Whenever Bardfinn is confronted about the fact that he's effectively cyberstalking and politically profiling industrial amounts of Redditors - something he really does not need to do in order to "keep my subreddits safe" - he deflects from this question by insisiting that he supposedly has a right to do whatever he wants with the loot he has trawled from the Reddit API:

Here's what Bardfinn leaves out: have to sign up to access the Reddit API... which means Reddit can ban Bardfinn from using the API if users and mods can prove that he has consistently abused his API access and the data he has generated for the purpose of cyberstalking, ideologically profiling, blacklisting and openly intimidating individual Reddit users over their personal use of the site. This kind of targeted cyberstalking of individual users is a privacy violation, and it should be possible to make a strong case that Bardfinn be banned from accessing the API since he's using it to target and abuse individual users he politically and ideologically disagrees with. Bardinn's argument that "it's public" is irrelevant because Bardfinn admitted that he NEEDS TO ACCESS THE API TO GET THIS INFORMATION he would otherwise not have access to if it wasn't for his API access, therefore it's not "public" in the sense that you can look it up in the browser like a regular user or a regular mod. IMO Bardfinn should be banned from accessing the API because that access allows him to cyberstalk and violate the privacy of individual Reddit users, which he has done repeatedly. No one signed up to Reddit to have their user history used against them like this. This is intimidation and it is intended to have a chilling effect, to dissuade users from using the site the way it was intended to be used. Bardfinn openly brags about how users are forced to open up multiple sockpuppet accounts to avoid being cyberstalked by him.

Reddit (presumably) was never intended to be an SJW data-mining project for the sake of creating political blacklists. There is absolutely a strong case that can be made about this. Bardfinn is NOT a researcher, he is NOT using his API to conduct legitimate academic research into groups of users but to cyberstalk individual users he doesn't like. Bardfinn is already controversial for wanting to mass-ban users without a post hoc ban-alert or the right to appeal as is currently the case. His bad intentions have been amply documented all over Reddit and elsewhere.

And if Barfinn ever corners you on Reddit holding your history on the site against you (he will usually write something along the lines of: "I see you have been very active in", "You have participated on") go ahead and throw the book at him like he does at so many others: https://reddit.com/report

When you report him to Reddit Admins, you must cite the following rule as the reason you are contacting them:

"If you have access to non-public information as a result of moderating a subreddit, you will use such information only in connection with your performance as a moderator; "

He KNOWS he is violating the Reddit User Agreement when he's abusing his API access to cyberstalk users and hold up his loot in their faces with "I know which subreddits you posted on".

Another thing you can do, whenever you notice that Bardfinn is cornering a Redditor and holding his API loot against them to intimidate them, is to contact that Redditor in private, and use that as an opportunity to educate Redditors about Bardinn, the League of Extraordinary Trolls, AHS, etc. An example of a DM you can send to a Redditor that you've noticed was cornered by Bardfinn or other AHSers is this:

Please contact me in private, I want to inform you about one of the people who responded to you. This individual has long been engaged in the cyberstalking, ideological profiling, blacklisting, intimidation and coercion of Redditors and mods across the site. You can report them to Reddit Admins for their malicious abuse. Please contact me in private to receive instructions on how to file a report.

I am guessing that Bardfinn is able to get away with this malicious smearing and cyberstalking of Redditors, mostly because a lot these users he targets are probably very young and don't know how to report him to Reddit or even that they can file such a report. I am seriously considering opening an account and contacting every person targeted by Bardfinn in private with instructions on how to properly report him to Reddit for his malicious abuse of his moderator capabilities to cyberstalk and intimidate individual users. Bardfinn must be banned from accessing the API to cyberstalk and politically profile Redditors.

For those of you who still don't see the significance of this: What if Penny went before Reddit Admins and insisted that his API oracle has revealed to him that /u/someone has far right connections and deserves to be shut down before he floods the site with his fascism? None of his research is public, none of his findings are public, his software isn't open source, his results are not reproducable to be peer reviewed and checked. (If you think Reddit Admins are gonna run a check on their end, think again, just the mere fact that they've allowed this kook to abuse the API for so long means they don't give a shit. They just want to save face.) And remember, Penny wants to be able to digitally mass-grave you and others with no warning and no right of appeal, that's the end goal here. You just have to take his word at it when he claims that /u/someone is a Natsee. Do you trust a psychiatric patient who admits to his PTSD induced paranoia to tell you who's a Natsee and who isn't? On the basis of secret findings using secret software and secret categories of classication? Really, this bullshit has to end.
