ALERT: Bardfinn & AHS are planning to target /r/Saidit on Reddit, claiming that it is a "hate subreddit" without an active mod

Someone with a Reddit account please reach out to the /r/Saidit moderator ASAP and ask them to set the subreddit to private at once. Bardinn has admitted that when a subreddit is set to private he cannot mirror it or tag the people within it.

So in case anyone missed that part:

There is only one "moderator" of r/saiditnet and that account is apparently MIA, not moderating the subreddit. This means that r/saiditnet meets our criteria for a hate subreddit:

Hosting, promoting, or amplifying a culture of hatred through the misfeasance or malfeasance of its "moderators"

Also, Bardfinn is willing to waive his own stated rules when he particularly hates a certain target:

We'll waive the 1,000-subscriber threshold with respect to r/saiditnet, since it is explicitly hosting the audiences of and communities of previously-banned subreddits and are using Reddit as a networking and rallying space.

Any hate speech or other sitewide rules violations in that subreddit should be archived and reported.

"We'll waive the 1,000-subscriber threshold" Of course. Whoever believed AHS would be honest regarding their self-imposed rules (which make it sound like they are just being nice to not go after the little guys but is almost certainly them just triaging strategically).

Has anyone reached out about this yet?

You can try contacting the moderators of those subreddits and inform them about their options. Most moderators on Reddit are young and are very unfamiliar with the reporting process or they are intimidated by it because they don't know how to word their complaint in a way that will lead to it being taken seriously by Reddit Admins. Bardfinn, who has been on Reddit since forever, is very familiar with which channels to use to report which violation, and this is something he uses to his advantage. He has openly admitted to filing hundreds of reports every single day.

Well, I'm filing dozens. Against the people who got the super* subs banned so they get a taste of their own medicine. Have got a few positive results too (some warnings and a couple of temp bans). Just learning the game.
