- This may be confused with /s/soundaemonic to those unfamiliar with the plethora of subgenres but ambstep has a 2-step garage sound with synth pads, field recordings, and other atmospheric sounds and vinyl crackle. The vocal chops hold a familiarity but future garage/ambstep often has an urban quality and a 2-step or four to the floor beat that stems from the original UK garage and grime that evokes a distressed urbanized environment rather than the purposely gothic and occult thematic conventions of witch house and sometimes dark ambient.
