There has been a post going around in Reddit about Bethesda looking to shutdown Quake Champions.

For those who don’t know my opinion on Quake Champions, I initially did not like what Quake Champions was when it was released, and my feelings for the game was solidified by how the game progressed through the limited life-span. First of all, the game is still in “Early Access”, while having a million dollar tournament early on and selling micro-transaction currency. If the game was finished enough to have a million dollar tournament and selling micro-transactions, the game should not be considered “Early Access”. Currently, you can play the game for free, while purchase battle passes and supposedly the champion pack which allows the player to play with all of the character heroes (which I can no longer find information on that, nor care).
The development of the game took place outside of Bethesda, and developed by Saber Interactive which handled the outsourced labor. The lack of quality was quite apparent, while demonstrating Bethesda looking for the cheapest route to release the game. Poorly mismanaged updates, and the lack of maps are only some of the issues with Quake Champions, and will continue to plague the game. The (community sought) game type that was suppose to bring Quake Champions back to the top, was Capture The Flag. And was a poorly added mode that came with only one (1, ONE) true symmetrical map that was designed for Capture The Flag. Other maps were reused for this game type, which did not play and sit well for the current players due to being asymmetrical. The game never recovered after that.
There are just a few issues that I covered, and I’m pretty sure there are tons of other things I missed. Bethesda demonstrated themselves as being a piss poor company that should not be existing today, with other examples being Fallout 76, Rage 2, and Wolfenstein: Youngblood. We should not support poorly developed games, and I support Bethesda killing Quake Champions. If Quake Champions is shutdown, I expect the current players will move on back to the other ArenaFPS games that saw a loss of players. Such games include QuakeWorld, Warsow/Warfork, Doombringer, OpenArena and Xonotic just to name some. The only company that made something positive of the genre was Blizzard, with their release of Overwatch, and that was an annoying piss-show to watch, along with its own issues.
If you support Quake Champions being shutdown, please pass this post around with the hashtag: #KillQuakeChampions
Thank you. :)
