Arkansas is one of the many states of the United States, situated in the South and along the Mississippi river.
Not to be confused with Communist Kansas.
Known as the 'Natural State' or the 'Diamond State', Arkansas was admitted to the Union in 1836, the 25th to do so, shortly followed by Michigan, who likes to pretend to be the 25th, but who is actually the 26th.
Arkansas was one of the states that seceded during the Civil War, only deciding to do so once Abraham Lincoln called for an army to invade the South.
Arkansas' culture is distinctly Southern, being part of Dixie (the American South). It's also similar to Mississippi, Louisiana, and Texas, all of which it borders.
A matter of some contention is the Ozark mountains, which is partitioned between it as well as Missouri, Oklahoma, and to a small extent: Kansas. There is debate over if the region is rightfully Arkansan, Missourian, or an independent region entirely.
Other than the Ozarks, which are present in the northwest, Arkansas can be split into four other regions: the delta along the Mississippi river, the timberland in the south, Central Arkansas, and the Ouachitas.
Arkansas is one of the deepest red states there is, having a Republican trifecta and voting for Donald Trump in the 2016 Presidential Election by over sixty percent. Although she has consistently voted for Republican Presidential candidates, Arkansas had a Democratic trifecta until 2012, when it experienced a sudden political shift which lasted around four years.
