Arkansas

A really weird thing about Texarkana is that (at least form the north) you have to go through Texas to get there from the Arkansas side, and that's the only reason I can say I've been to Texas — for a few minutes.

Another weird fact about Arkansas is that there are two Little Rocks: "South" Little Rock, which serves as the capital, and North Little Rock, which is a separate city to the north of the Arkansas river. Apparently it used to be a town called Argenta, but was annexed by Little Rock and became its eighth ward, but eventually became its own city through a bill in the state legislature. It then merged with Argenta, (I think this means the parts LR didn't take) and later changed its name to Argenta — but then changed its name back to North Little Rock... for some reason.

There's also Cammack Village, which is a tiny city of around seven-hundred people surrounded by Little Rock. In the forties: they voted to be annexed into Little Rock, but a judge through it out over a technicality, and I guess no one cared enough to have another vote.
