The center of the earth, and a power plant on the surface, for near-infinite geothermal energy.

Rockefellers will not happy about it.

They are going to destroy it.

I've never thought of that, but it would make energy because it would gain kinetic energy as it falls, and then each time it goes through the portal it would gain more potential energy without losing any kinetic energy. So that would also be a way to make infinite energy, good call

    • Saudi oil fields to Texas (dated?)
    • Somewhere NASA, say Florida, to the very edge of the atmosphere (instant space elevator)
    • Jerusalem to DC or Jerusalem to Langley, VA

My bedroom and a brothel in Eastern Europe... But seriously, I would pick the northern Middle East and the southern United States. The amount of world resources that could be saved on transport costs between Asia/Europe/Africa and the Americas would be enormous. And could help significantly with world poverty. And the extra money saved could either go to further helping world poverty, reforresting the planet, or making a badass casino resort space station. Or whatever. It would be trillions in savings.

Monetary value or can said value be interpreted differently? My first thought was pole to pole, or somewhere close to it depending on geography. Otherwise I guess any of the centres of control (government, banking, religious...), take your pick and then match that to the bottom of the Marianas Trench.

I think london and LA would save the most airline travel.
