So apparently it's a trend that people in rich western countries concerned with freedom, government interference and the decline of the West are moving to the ex Eastern bloc countries.
The idea is that because these countries have clear memory of communism and authoritarian government they aren't as likely to fall into that trap again in the way north American and western Europe currently are. These countries often do have crazy governments but because their governments are poor and small they can't really impose themselves on your life the same way tax bloated administrations can.
Of course most of the people doing this are remote workers who can get a good wage and then spend it in a country with a much lower cost of living. If you had to find a job in those countries it would probably not be as attractive.
