ShalomEveryone is a full of shit enemy of humanity, and I ask for them to be banned for perpetually sealioning, shilling, lying, and dragging down discussions (only the last is ban-worthy by site rules).

I'm sure the mods will spring into action
Consider me sprung. Personally I was thinking of asking u/d3rr if he could just override user blocking options so y'all can't see each other permanently.

/u/d3rr Is it possible to give admins a tool to force one account to block another account? Me and Musky used our mutual telepathy to arrive at this idea at the same time. I think this goes along with the idea /u/magnora7 had of a restraining order issued by a judge that separates parties. His comments about that are somewhere in this post. It would be a great alternative tool to use instead of completely banning accounts. It should still be okay for the users to remove their blocks after a cooling down period of 2 to 7 days.
Along these same lines, numerous people have stated that the reason they won't use the block feature is because it blocks entire discussions. Is it possible to tone down the block so that it only hides comments from the blocked user and not responses and whole discussions? The individual comments could either be hidden by showing as deleted or by spoilers.
Thank you.

All of those asks together is 20 hours of work or more. I'm burned the fuck out after the docker port. Creating github issues for these things is a good next step though.
I don't know if I like the idea of admins forcing certain people to block other people. It's heavy duty parenting shit. Socks is a skilled troll and is beating Jason. Banning Jason (for 2 weeks or whatever liberal bullshit we do) is the easier solution.

I agree with all of this

I agree too, especially the part about socks being a skilled troll and beating Jason. /u/JasonCarswell all you have to do to win is just stop responding to him. It's really easy to win. Just literally ignore him. Just let him get the last word. I promise the Earth won't change course if you do. By letting him get you angry, you're putting admins in a position of having to ban you for two weeks. Please just ignore him. I know you want to argue but just don't please.

He doesn't get me angry. It's an opportunity to get creative, regardless how you subjectively interpret it. But the admins' lack of balls and bullshit judgements giving me a strike instead of the asstrolls does piss in my granola a little bit. He's actually only beat you guys.
You need to figure out who the real enemies are and stop letting them win.
When I ignore you from now on, you'll know why.

Consider me sprung
LOL (if the pun is intended)
(I think Mr C would be sad if he couldn't see my genius posts. Also - we're a 'free speech' site, at least in name, so we're expected to have thick skins.)

we're a 'free speech' site
D3 has repeatedly said we are not. I understand the reasoning, there are certain realities.
I think Mr C would be sad
Both of you have been incredibly against simply blocking one another. You both obviously care greatly about each other.
so we're expected to have thick skins
You both start shit. I would not want Saidit deprived of either of you characters.

You both obviously care greatly about each other.
LOL - a dysfunctional drunken Irish brawl form of caring.
I try not to bother him - but I wanted to respond to the anti-Shalom stuff
[–][deleted] 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun - 2 years ago (2 children)
Are you a Muslim? Been kinda curious about that.
anti-Shalom stuff
Jason, I don't think realized that was an 'anti-Semitic' account. It's a clever parody. I know you hate Jews. Kinda funny, you're super liberal on everything else.

Oy vey - I like people, regardless of religion, but I don't like fascist approaches in government, as is Israel's government for the past 20 years (and the GOP, and governments of Turkey, China, Russia, Bulgaria, Brazil, Philippines &c). I am not anti-Jew any more than I am anti-anyone else. And d3rr has been convinced that I am Mossad, FBI, CIA, NSA, China Ministry of State Security, &c. I'm not Muslim, nor to I hate Jews. I think Shalom is a Jewish person, and certainly not anti-Semitic.
[–][deleted] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun - 2 years ago (0 children)
Oh no way dude. Shalom is totally a Jewish opposition thing. It's rather obvious. It's so over the top.

I actually had that exact same idea today.

One issue is the block user needs to be updated to not block entire discussions. Numerous people have said that they don't use it because it does that.
What people are seeing is that when they block someone they cut themselves out of the conversation. When we ban someone we eradicate that whole potential future conversation. If we hide those numbers we don't fix the inherent problem, we just bury our heads in the sand.

Hopefully you'll appreciate the irony that you and Musky are actively considering a form of censorship. Once you start down that path, it's a slippery slope. M7 has discussed this.
Literally only one of you and Jason needs to be mature enough to let the other get the last word and end the spiraling drama. If either one of you and Jason did just let the other get the last word then me and Musky wouldn't have to get involved. You have the power to end this by literally doing nothing.
let the other get the last word
That does happen. Perhaps you've missed the other conversations.
Musky wouldn't have to get involved
Depends on what you want to do. Mr C's comments are obviously much lower on the POD on a regular basis, with various people. He knows he can do it without anyone contacting him. In any event, the arguing with me is relatively harmless and rare, and hardly anyone sees it, unless they want to read /s/all/comments instead of looking first at the posts. Sadly, you and others have misidentified some of my earlier comments as low on the POD, whereas there are other users on Saidit who are constantly low on the POD. Disagreement is not low POD.
