The data is pretty clear: the longer a person is exposed to oxygen, the more likely they are to have health complications leading to death. It is also highly addictive; in a recent study 100% of participants expressed physical and psychological discomfort as well as decreased cognitive acuity when deprived of oxygen. This dependence can even be passed from mother to child during pregnancy, with the fetus being fully dependent on oxygen consumption by the mother. We as a society need to come together and find a way to break this chemical’s grip on so many lives.
