No, I don't think so, at least not in the technical sense. If you want some and you're not getting it, that's involuntary celibacy.

I would suggest that this has to be true over years, though, not just a brief "dry spell."

Also, you won't run into many people who used to get laid but don't anymore in incel circles (like this sub). So for clarity, I would generally call such people "failed normies" or just "old."

      People use the term that way, but I'm not 100% on board.

      A lot of posters on incel boards do visit prostitutes. That conflicts with my definition, and with yours.

      Not all of them claim to hate women. That conflicts with your definition but not mine.

      All in all, I'm most skeptical of usages of the word "incel" that try to identify some set of beliefs or political opinions. "Hacker known as 4chan" and all that. "Incel" is really more of a status than a movement.

        That's what we're doing LOL.

        It's actually kind of crazy how much attention the whole "incel" thing has received. It is not unprecedented, though. I'm old so I've seen the same phenomenon with a lot of different things. Incels are the new Dungeons & Dragons weirdos. Climate change is the new "acid rain," etc.

        Incels carry around this manifesto that they unpack spontainiously for anyone and everyone. It involves height and facial symmetry and how men who dont possess features aligned with the golden ratio arent going to be able to attract females. It's seems depressing and exhausting. If you dont find yourself doing something like that, youre not an incel, regardless of sexual experience. Also theyre weird about women. They seem less concerned with passing the time with someone they like doing something fun than the status they get from performing the act. Sex is a form of validation for them rather than a pasttime or way to be in a loving relationship.

        I'm inclined to say no. I know an incel who has only slept with a prostitute. He's early 40's, doesn't look after himself, only eats tinned food, has dozens of insecurities and yet he is convinced he will find a young and beautiful 18-22 year old to raise a family with. Very sad existence. A person must care about themselves before anyone else is going to care about them.
