It is already the 21. Anniversary of 9/11.
Which was scapegoated to wage wars, drop bombs, mass-murder, undermine civil rights and liberties and install autocratic kleptocracies and mass-surveillance all around the globe.
Personally, it also was the end of my "just be happy and open and do whatever you want"-lifestyle I had until then and the beginning of a much more secluded lifestyle and perpetual paranoia. It was the end of my relatively careless youth as a human being. Even though I wasn't even 20 years old when it happened.
I sincerely hope that people born after this event will get a chance to take at least a glimpse of what the "world" was like, before it happened. I can remember being able to trust people on first sight, before it happened.
Which I deeply miss as a state of mind and attitude.
