I found this place from Reddit I think, good while ago too, I just wanted a place where I can freely say my beliefs and not get banned, and say any bad word!

[–]Feldheld 13 insightful - 4 fun13 insightful - 3 fun14 insightful - 4 fun -  (2 children)

Same here. Someone on reddit posted a link.

[–][deleted] 8 insightful - 3 fun8 insightful - 2 fun9 insightful - 3 fun -  (1 child)

Was that recently? I heard Saidit.net links were getting automatically removed on reddit a while back but idk if there was anything to it.

[–]Feldheld 4 insightful - 2 fun4 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

Two years.

[–]EndlessSunflowers 17 insightful - 6 fun17 insightful - 5 fun18 insightful - 6 fun -  (17 children)

I'll chime in on this. It still kinda pisses me off, but also, IDAF anymore.

I started on reddit in 2009 (digg > reddit > saidit)

/iriemeditation was my 1st account there and I used it enough over the years that I had over 600,000 karma

reddit ended up deleting that account, lol

I liked to read and post in /conspiracy (back when it was legit) and I posted a lot in /QuotesPorn (you can still find some of my content that other people shared on reddit)

Once in a while I would see my posts on the front page and sometimes they got over 2,000 points - then there was thing about vote manipulation on reddit in those days and you rarely saw any content get a above 2,000

Then they started removing some of my posts for nonsense reasons . . . and I would call them out on that shit!

That's Why We Have Voting You Assholes!! LOL let the users and voters decide on what posts get moved up or down, Quick Erasing My Shit!!

I'm in my 40s now, I'm too old to argue with some little bitches on the interweb.

I'm pretty much just about Freedom, and Truth.

and Kindness. (and reggae music!) If you're not with any of these things then we might not connect. no problem, life goes on.

Also, reddit banned No New Normal, wtf was that about? we're not even allowed to talk about the shady criminal gang of big pharma?

Saidit has been cool so far. I don't really read many of the comments, but I enjoy seeing the posts and making posts of my own.

Life is what we make it

[–]EndlessSunflowers 10 insightful - 5 fun10 insightful - 4 fun11 insightful - 5 fun -  (2 children)

I didn't even answer the question : )

Magnora7 mentioned saidit on a reddit post, probably in /conspiracy, bc that's pretty much the only sub I visit anymore
(also maybe /woodworking, /abandonedporn, /nostalgia... things like that, once in a while)

[–]IndianaJones[S] 4 insightful - 3 fun4 insightful - 2 fun5 insightful - 3 fun -  (1 child)

Very insightful answer!

[–][deleted] 9 insightful - 4 fun9 insightful - 3 fun10 insightful - 4 fun -  (2 children)

Putin loves cats, ninja666, god I can’t remember the first one that got banned.

But when conspiracy started banning their greatest users, you could tel reddit was becoming trash.

Now conspiracy is a honey pot.

[–]DirewolfGhost 2 insightful - 2 fun2 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 2 fun -  (1 child)

I forgot about putinlovescats. He was fun.

[–][deleted] 2 insightful - 2 fun2 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

Yea. I was an OG on conspiracy as well. I had over 1mil comment karma. Then they started banning. I coveted my karma.

[–]Vulptex 8 insightful - 3 fun8 insightful - 2 fun9 insightful - 3 fun -  (7 children)

Reddit deleted your account? I've never heard of that happening before.

[–]RedEyedWarrior 9 insightful - 3 fun9 insightful - 2 fun10 insightful - 3 fun -  (6 children)

It happened to me. My first account wasn’t deleted it, I deleted it myself. The next two accounts did get deleted.

[–]Vulptex 6 insightful - 3 fun6 insightful - 2 fun7 insightful - 3 fun -  (5 children)

I've heard of shadowbans, IP bans, permanent suspensions, even passwords being changed, but I have never, ever heard of the admins actually deleting an account.

[–]RedEyedWarrior 4 insightful - 2 fun4 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 2 fun -  (4 children)

I wasn’t necessarily deleted, but two accounts were banned. I couldn’t PM people as a result.

[–]Vulptex 7 insightful - 2 fun7 insightful - 1 fun8 insightful - 2 fun -  (3 children)

On two separate occasions the admins decided I fucked up so bad that they changed all my passwords in addition to banning all my accounts.

I created /r/The_Cabal, among other things. That has to be why.

[–]TarBaby 4 insightful - 2 fun4 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

My account got locked for suspicious activities. I found Saidit on Reddit when someone posted to join here.

[–]RedEyedWarrior 2 insightful - 2 fun2 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 2 fun -  (1 child)

Those tranny admins do a lot of damage.

[–]Vulptex 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Well I'm not

[–]Newzok 7 insightful - 3 fun7 insightful - 2 fun8 insightful - 3 fun -  (1 child)

I never even heard of Nonewnormal, but that would be right up my alley. At least now we see the censorship for what it is, and how united the media companies are in presenting a narrative. The whistle for me was(besides all the cretinous bullshit) when they did the Rogan smear campaign and it came clear it was the work of a think tank trying to get rid of his covid questioning. We usually never hear of them but holy moly, how much of the discourse is controlled by these groups? Billionaires have their own ones, too, affecting nations. It's disillusioning.

[–]JasonCarswell 4 insightful - 3 fun4 insightful - 2 fun5 insightful - 3 fun -  (0 children)

[–]RedEyedWarrior 5 insightful - 2 fun5 insightful - 1 fun6 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

Very interesting journey. And I agree, arguing with failures who are in their 20s or their teens is a waste of effort.

[–]jet199 17 insightful - 4 fun17 insightful - 3 fun18 insightful - 4 fun -  (14 children)

I came over when gender critical was banned.

And I stay because the atmosphere here is better than the pressure cooker which is a site full of women all pretending to be just to good for this cruel world.

Also I'm not scared by guilt by association like many who come from reddit so I have no problem in chatting with anyone. You should have seen the freakouts when GC first moved here and they had some of their beliefs challenged for the first time.

[–][deleted] 12 insightful - 6 fun12 insightful - 5 fun13 insightful - 6 fun -  (4 children)

You should have seen the freakouts when GC first moved here and they had some of their beliefs challenged for the first time.

TumblrInAction did the same. That was funny seeing them complain about Holocaust denialism on the front page. Like, guys, that's the whole reason you had to come here, we can say things you're not allowed to elsewhere.

[–]RedEyedWarrior 8 insightful - 3 fun8 insightful - 2 fun9 insightful - 3 fun -  (2 children)

Exactly. Nobody is forcing you to interact with Holocaust deniers. Except that now you have to option to do so, only if you want to.

[–][deleted] 15 insightful - 5 fun15 insightful - 4 fun16 insightful - 5 fun -  (1 child)

It's one of the hidden benefits of being exiled, you have you eyes opened to a lot of new possibilities. When you see that only certain narratives are allowed to be considered, it makes you wonder why, and what else is like that.

Also, people are friendlier here than reddit.

[–]RedEyedWarrior 8 insightful - 4 fun8 insightful - 3 fun9 insightful - 4 fun -  (0 children)

Definitely much friendlier than Reddit.

[–]jet199 7 insightful - 5 fun7 insightful - 4 fun8 insightful - 5 fun -  (0 children)

Ew my gosh there are actual nazis here, how to we clear them out? Fumigate?

How about make good arguments if you think people are wrong.

[–]RedEyedWarrior 9 insightful - 4 fun9 insightful - 3 fun10 insightful - 4 fun -  (6 children)

Good on you for sticking around. If your opinions remain the same after they’ve been challenged, then that means you have confidence in your beliefs.

[–]jet199 7 insightful - 4 fun7 insightful - 3 fun8 insightful - 4 fun -  (4 children)

Or just a stubborn mule.

[–]RedEyedWarrior 6 insightful - 4 fun6 insightful - 3 fun7 insightful - 4 fun -  (2 children)

I’m stubborn too. I keep quiet about my opinions nowadays, but I still hold opinions most of my family and coworkers would be horrified to hear that I hold.

[–]jet199 6 insightful - 3 fun6 insightful - 2 fun7 insightful - 3 fun -  (1 child)

My sister once outed me as a terf to her lefty boyfriend to shit stir.

He was quite annoyed with me and made a few snarky comments but decided to do the sensible thing and read up on the arguments before fully taking me on over it.

Then I never heard a word about it from him again, lol.

[–]RedEyedWarrior 1 insightful - 2 fun1 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

Good for you and your sister's boyfriend. It was mature of him.

[–]DirewolfGhost 2 insightful - 2 fun2 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

Another honorable trait.

[–][deleted] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

They aren't. jet199 is turning into a decent human being.

The echo chamber is a double edged sword. I bet a lot of them ran back to live in ignorant bliss.

[–]jet199 10 insightful - 3 fun10 insightful - 2 fun11 insightful - 3 fun -  (0 children)

They set up a clone, https://ovarit.com/

[–][deleted] 14 insightful - 4 fun14 insightful - 3 fun15 insightful - 4 fun -  (8 children)

I came here as a reddit refugee too, that seems pretty common, for me it was for being an antivaxxer. Saidit was on a list of reddit alternatives and I had seen u/HibikiBlack post about saidit in r/conspiracy before

[–]RedEyedWarrior 9 insightful - 2 fun9 insightful - 1 fun10 insightful - 2 fun -  (6 children)

Also an antivaxxer who got banned from Reddit. Well, I’m not a true antivaxxer. I support vaccines. But the Covid "vaccine" is not a vaccine. It’s an obedience test. Furthermore, nobody should be forced to take medicine that they do not want to take.

[–][deleted] 9 insightful - 2 fun9 insightful - 1 fun10 insightful - 2 fun -  (5 children)

Reddit cracked down hard on the covid 'vaccine' stuff, not surpirsed I'm not the only one. My stance is also a bit more nuanced than 'antivax', I was just attempting to get my point across without going off on a tangent and derailing the discussion 😅

[–]RedEyedWarrior 8 insightful - 2 fun8 insightful - 1 fun9 insightful - 2 fun -  (4 children)

Reddit doesn’t allow dissent.

[–][deleted] 7 insightful - 2 fun7 insightful - 1 fun8 insightful - 2 fun -  (3 children)

No they do not. I wasn't really a big reddit user, I mainly used it for programming subs and participating in very small subs based on specific interests. I didn't realize how oppressive it was until I tried to interact about Covid stuff, but it seems like they have treated other topics and communities like this as well

[–]RedEyedWarrior 9 insightful - 2 fun9 insightful - 1 fun10 insightful - 2 fun -  (2 children)

Reddit hates dissent. Full stop. And it’s not just Covid.

Go on r/Europe. Try criticising the Ukrainian government, or supporting the edit of a member state from the EU, or defending the Hungarian government.

Go on any gay related website. Try declaring that you are gay and right wing. You don’t have to be right wing, just being classical liberal will piss a lot of gay and troon Redditors off. I got a lot of shit on r/AskGayBros for not being left wing. That sub acts like the majority of people on r/RightWingLGBT were monsters until Reddit banned the latter sub. Ironically, r/RightWingLGBT is not that right wing, just right of centre. Not harmful at all. But a gay person who isn’t a communist is a threat to the Reddit admins.

Try criticising feminism anywhere except the redpill subs. You’ll get downvoted.

Fuck Reddit.

[–]DirewolfGhost 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

Started in 2016 when "correct the record" rebranded to shareblue as hillary's online propaganda arm. Armies of bots manned by shills. Ugly times.

[–]RedEyedWarrior 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

From what I've heard, Reddit started going to shit around 2012. It was still mostly good until 2016, when shit hit the fan.

[–]HibikiBlack 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I myself I'm probably one of the oldest users along with Magnora and d3rr themselves. Magnora was one of my friends in r/conspiracy and I felt a lot of sympathy towards his frustration about the destruction of reason and morality on social media that let to him to create Saidit. I've been helping promote the site almost since it was made.

I remember there was a time in which the only active users were me, Magnora and d3rr. I wouldn't be surprised if I managed to get a large amount of the users to the site by myself.

[–][deleted] 11 insightful - 4 fun11 insightful - 3 fun12 insightful - 4 fun -  (45 children)

I was on VOAT and it closed down. Still miss that place, it was so based.

[–]Feldheld 7 insightful - 4 fun7 insightful - 3 fun8 insightful - 4 fun -  (41 children)

VOAT was infested by actual nazis and antisemites. I hardly ever used it because it was hard to find decent stuff among all the excrement.

[–]IndianaJones[S] 6 insightful - 7 fun6 insightful - 6 fun7 insightful - 7 fun -  (38 children)

Just curious, say if a nazi was feeling really sad or something and he asked you for a hug, would you say yes?

[–]JasonCarswell 5 insightful - 3 fun5 insightful - 2 fun6 insightful - 3 fun -  (13 children)

My friend John brought that Free Hugs sign last night, and I dressed up with the name tag "Gnome O'Tierny" (more on that later), to go to a documentary. Big community turnout, but disappointing documentary.

[–]IndianaJones[S] 3 insightful - 2 fun3 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 2 fun -  (12 children)

Haha, I remember that sign. Mind if I use it as a backdrop in one of my future youtube videos? I'll crop out John's face if privacy is an issue and I'll credit your saidit name. I dunno if I'm gonna use it for sure but it'd be nice to have your permission if the time ever comes.

If not, then that's okay, I won't use it.

Big community turnout, but disappointing documentary.

That's too bad man. I hope your buddy got a lot of hugs though!

[–]JasonCarswell 4 insightful - 2 fun4 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 2 fun -  (2 children)

Use it freely. Hump er dry. I don't need credit. I could even design better vector versions to print out. I could get better photos of it, though the sign has been beaten up since then.

It was at a drive-in theatre - in the dark. Didn't get much out of my Gnome O'Tierny (pronounced: no more tyranny) costume nor his sign. He still gets his hugs.

[–]IndianaJones[S] 5 insightful - 3 fun5 insightful - 2 fun6 insightful - 3 fun -  (1 child)

He still gets his hugs.

That's all I needed to hear. Hug power! White power! Decentralise power!

Use it freely.

Thank you kindly.

[–]JasonCarswell 2 insightful - 2 fun2 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

People power (bottom-up)!

[–]JasonCarswell 3 insightful - 2 fun3 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 2 fun -  (8 children)

Almost missed the lead. What videos?

[–]IndianaJones[S] 3 insightful - 2 fun3 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 2 fun -  (7 children)

Oh, they're nothing too special really. I just ramble about what's on my mind and I'll occassionally tell a funny story. I make incel content too, so if that's something you wouldn't want your glorious sign to be associated with then I understand.

[–]JasonCarswell 3 insightful - 2 fun3 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 2 fun -  (6 children)

I'll send it to you in private cause I don't wanna be a self-promoting fag. I don't care if you share it around publicly or anything, I just don't wanna be the one who spreads it. I even shouted you out in my latest video. Haha.

Incels are people too.

Thank you kindly.

Most people are misguided too.

Yeah, tell me about it. There's a lot of damage that reddit has done to me mentally that must be undone.

Gnome lives matter.

Black lives don't matter. ONLY GNOME LIVES MATTER!

[–]JasonCarswell 4 insightful - 3 fun4 insightful - 2 fun5 insightful - 3 fun -  (3 children)

Fact: There's nothing wrong with self-promotion. If you don't toot your own horn, no one else will. Learn from constructive criticism and ignore the inevitable abundance of haters in their tedious existences. The only way you get good is by trying, failing, learning, and trying more - so don't let them stop your necessary training.

For the last few weeks I've been thinking of starting a new sub but I'm always too busy/distracted. The sub would be for our artists, musicians, video/filmmakers, writers, etc., inspired by underrated /u/TonyDiGerolamo, and sadly missing /u/SierraKiloBravo. Eventually I'll finish some of my /s/LeverMind videos too.

/s/SaidItCreatives or /s/SaidItCreators seem like appropriate names, unless you've got better ideas.

[–]Vulptex 7 insightful - 3 fun7 insightful - 2 fun8 insightful - 3 fun -  (15 children)

Keep in mind, this "Nazis are subhumans who don't deserve rights, punch them" reasoning is exactly what North Korea and China use to justify torturing everyone they don't like in the gulags.

[–][deleted] 6 insightful - 4 fun6 insightful - 3 fun7 insightful - 4 fun -  (14 children)

Wait, I'm not saying that at all... Actual nazis are the last remaining sane and good people on Earth.

[–]Vulptex 2 insightful - 2 fun2 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 2 fun -  (5 children)

...What?

[–][deleted] 3 insightful - 4 fun3 insightful - 3 fun4 insightful - 4 fun -  (4 children)

Want me to type it again, this time more slowly so you can follow?

[–]DirewolfGhost 4 insightful - 2 fun4 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 2 fun -  (3 children)

I think its more that "actual nazi" is the inverse of "no true scotsman" as we have no idea what "actual" implies. I collect perspectives for fun and I have no idea which angle you're coming from. I'm a blood and earth, combined with live and let live type, but I have no idea if that's what you mean.

[–][deleted] 4 insightful - 2 fun4 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 2 fun -  (2 children)

I mean: Sieg Heil!

I mean: We must secure the existence of our people and a future for white children.

I mean: Heil Hitler!

I mean: Fascism (see my other comments on the topic) is the only way to ensure both order and freedom of a nation. Yes, that's right: fascism is freedom.

Representative 'democracy' and libertarianism lend themselves to utter subversion and as we can readily see, the communists, the greatest collective evil ever to happen, are good at subverting and when they do, everything turns to shit.

Degeneracy must be stopped or mankind will perish. No ifs or buts, no maybes either.

[–]JasonCarswell 1 insightful - 2 fun1 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 2 fun -  (7 children)

Horrux desires a great leader - top-down authority to be obeyed.
I say there is no such thing.
They're all corrupt.

No one will ever agree on what it means to be "great".
Trudeau is "a leader".

National socialism = fascism.
Social nationalism = communism.
The difference = how you spell it.

[–][deleted] 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (6 children)

Communism is anti-nationalistic to the extreme... Come on Jason, you should know at least that much...

Also, great leaders can lead a nation to recognize its greatness. Once that's done, it is relatively easy to keep it going on its path of greatness. Yes, Hitler was a Great Leader. There are others in the world who have similar leadership acumen.

Putin is probably a Great Leader, but Russia and Russians have been so deeply marked by communism that turning them fascist would require just too much work to be done in a single generation or two. You'd need multiple.

But the point of fascism isn't the Great Leader, although that does help. The point is uniting the population towards a common ideal. It is so simple, so effective, yet people such as you are unable to see its benefits.

Fucking degenerates, always blind, always throwing dirt to what they either refuse to, or are unable to understand.

[–]JasonCarswell 1 insightful - 2 fun1 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 2 fun -  (5 children)

Waaaaaay too much absolute absurdity in there to respond to at 6am.

[–][deleted] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (4 children)

Never. Admit. Defeat.

[–]IndianaJones[S] 4 insightful - 4 fun4 insightful - 3 fun5 insightful - 4 fun -  (2 children)

But would you hug one? Maybe you could hug the extremism out of em!

[–][deleted] 10 insightful - 4 fun10 insightful - 3 fun11 insightful - 4 fun -  (1 child)

[–]DirewolfGhost 3 insightful - 2 fun3 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 2 fun -  (1 child)

Half of me resembles that remark. Hugs are great. Its a hard fight to keep the hug alive in the public but I'm doing my best.

I'm an actual nazi but I am not an antisemite: I stand with the people of Palestine, even with all their lack of sophistication.

[–][deleted] 7 insightful - 6 fun7 insightful - 5 fun8 insightful - 6 fun -  (0 children)

I feel bad for the Palestinians, but honestly I could live with their oppression if it would spare the rest of the world from having to deal with the Jews.

[–]RedEyedWarrior 3 insightful - 2 fun3 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 2 fun -  (2 children)

It was difficult to get an account on it though.

[–][deleted] 3 insightful - 5 fun3 insightful - 4 fun4 insightful - 5 fun -  (1 child)

Not when you bring a picture of yourself doing a nazi salute and the 14 words and Heil Hitler written on the picture, with your photo ID.

Just kidding, I don't think anybody's done that!

[–]RedEyedWarrior 5 insightful - 2 fun5 insightful - 1 fun6 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

I know you were kidding. But I can imagine that some people would do this not realising that this could ruin their lives. I don’t mind people doing the Roman Salute. It was only banned because a bunch of crybabies screeched about it. But you do have to be careful.

[–]NutterButterFlutter 11 insightful - 3 fun11 insightful - 2 fun12 insightful - 3 fun -  (5 children)

r/WatchPeopleDie got banned from Reddit in March 2019 and moved here. I have always been a lurker of their sub, so I did not make an account at the time, just browsed.

I modded r/LGBDropTheT on Reddit with a few others, and we started getting concerned about a ban also. We discussed a few sites to be a backup, but ultimately decided on SaidIt because of WPD. We trusted the WPD mods and figured if they found SaidIt welcoming, we would too. We eventually got banned from Reddit in July 2020 and completed our move then.

Now the only time I'm on Reddit is to help people find their favorites subs which got banned and remade here too :)

Same story here.

[–]RedEyedWarrior 5 insightful - 3 fun5 insightful - 2 fun6 insightful - 3 fun -  (3 children)

WatchPeopleDie was replaced by MakeMyCoffin. Then Reddit banned it weeks after I got banned.

Also, thanks for bringing LGBDropTheT over here. We needed a backup. Wished that RightWingLGBT would come over here as well, even though they are not right wing they were still fun to talk to.

I want to add that s/WatchPeopleDie hasn’t seen a lot of activity recently. Are there any alternatives?

[–]NutterButterFlutter 5 insightful - 3 fun5 insightful - 2 fun6 insightful - 3 fun -  (2 children)

s/RightWingLGBT does exist, but it is pretty dead.

WPD also had a Telegram channel as another backup, and moved to their own offsite this summer. The offsite was taken over by the devs/admins, who then kicked the mod team off.

I'm not sure if the head mods plan to try to re-engage s/WatchPeopleDie here or are looking for other alternatives. Maybe u/tejmar or u/IAmMrPositive can weigh in?

[–]RedEyedWarrior 3 insightful - 3 fun3 insightful - 2 fun4 insightful - 3 fun -  (0 children)

That’s sad to hear. RIP.

I wished there was something like what WPD and liveleak used to be.

[–]tejmar 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I haven't spoken to iammrpositive about what to do now, but there's no reason a bigger push to get the saidit sub active again couldn't be made. We can even use https://pomf.lain.la to post the content and link it here.

[–]FuckMasks 9 insightful - 5 fun9 insightful - 4 fun10 insightful - 5 fun -  (2 children)

Reddit < saidit

I'm anti mask, anti vaxx, anti politics, anti trans, anti govt, anti woke, anti new normal, I speak my mind and sometimes I swear like a sailor, they spit me out pretty quick.

Boo to your spam robot in cel bs .

Just answering for the real people here. Not everyone here is a bot. But there is tons :p

[–]IndianaJones[S] 5 insightful - 2 fun5 insightful - 1 fun6 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

Boo received. I'm just glad you don't censor me. At least we have that in common, a hatred for reddit.

[–][deleted] 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I think there are NPCs and shills, but bots? I disagree!

[–]SerpensInferna 9 insightful - 5 fun9 insightful - 4 fun10 insightful - 5 fun -  (0 children)

I found saidit about 2 years ago now?, when reddit mass banned the lesbian and gc subs.

I rage quit reddit for good when I was banned from a sub for stating that the ancient Mesopotamian goddess Inanna was not, in fact, transgender.

[–][deleted] 9 insightful - 4 fun9 insightful - 3 fun10 insightful - 4 fun -  (15 children)

Ruqqus ban. Said feels good, like a small community with different ranges of people and not all of us get along. I don’t know how this web site has not taken off.

Is this the only web site that dosent use bots?

[–][deleted] 13 insightful - 5 fun13 insightful - 4 fun14 insightful - 5 fun -  (4 children)

I don’t know how this web site has not taken off

I came to love Saidit, but I was put off at first, I was used to Reddit, being seen by millions of people, and the spit and polish of a site with a dedicated dev team.

There's so much hate and anger on Reddit. So many people like Socks.

[–][deleted] 10 insightful - 7 fun10 insightful - 6 fun11 insightful - 7 fun -  (3 children)

Socks is like Reddit spirit lashing out at said it.

I like to think of him/it as the mitochondria in a cell as far as evolution. You give him/it thoughts and he/it creates engagement. He/its a blessing and marvel of technology/psychology.

[–]LarrySwinger2 5 insightful - 3 fun5 insightful - 2 fun6 insightful - 3 fun -  (8 children)

Saidit indeed doesn't use bots, because its enemies supply those.

[–]JasonCarswell 2 insightful - 3 fun2 insightful - 2 fun3 insightful - 3 fun -  (7 children)

SaidIt doesn't even have any bot policies.

Who do we think are bots?

[–]JasonCarswell 4 insightful - 3 fun4 insightful - 2 fun5 insightful - 3 fun -  (5 children)

Who do we think are bots?

There's the Anti-American Bot, very demotivational, often insightful, and commenting on very old content. Spams up the place until stopped, then creates a new user name to start all over. (/u/bb3 is the latest.)

It has been guessed that Chipit and socks have used bots, but maybe that's just their personality and/or their tendency to shift topics, avoid questions, and use ad hominems and non sequiturs.

And then there are asstrolls who ape me and others (/u/Chimpit) who may or may not employ bots and/or artificially upvote the toilet "humour" that reaches the front page.

For years I've said we should make a rule that bots declare themselves, ie. /u/AntiAmericanBot, and that subs should have the right to declare themselves Bot-Free or by default be Bot-Friendly. Obviously it would be impossible to discover all the bots. But it would also be worth automating some stuff ourselves (ie. archival, fave sources, feeds, threads, etc) and worth embracing tech while preparing for the worst of it. Maybe even have dedicated subs for bots, such as /s/JimmyDore_Bot would automatically post his stuff from all the video platforms.

If SaidIt actually became significant they could destroy us easily, via bots or other crap.

[–][deleted] 2 insightful - 3 fun2 insightful - 2 fun3 insightful - 3 fun -  (1 child)

Yea. It’s an interesting topic to me.

The web site seems bot free, but I dunno.

[–]JasonCarswell 2 insightful - 2 fun2 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

Yea. It’s an interesting topic to me.

/s/Artificial_Intelligen
/s/robotics
/s/SaidItBots

The web site seems bot free, but I dunno.

Almost every week AntiAmericanBot randomly spams a bunch of posts of mine from years ago.

That's obvious. More concerning is the manipulation from more human-like bots that may/may not be occurring - as well as our paranoia and cluelessness as to what to do, if anything.

[–][deleted] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

He said he dindunuffin.
d3rr said he thought it was Edwards'.
The bot has been here longer than Edweird's self reveal.
IIRC, Airbus might have had other numbers, I think here longer than that.

[–][deleted] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

That is Airbus with 100% certainty, he revealed himself by forgetting what account he was on and posting a copy of one of his Americans rants on his Airbus320 account

The largest trees grow slowest. There are bots but they aren't past the terminal carrying capacity.

[–]Newzok 9 insightful - 3 fun9 insightful - 2 fun10 insightful - 3 fun -  (0 children)

The TIA ban; I never hung out there but I hang in slightly less controversial subs that still are anti-idpol. The ban hammer is hovering and every time there's a good discussion around anything political, I expect the subs to be banned.

So I came here. It's empty rn, but slowly growing, I feel. This could be a great site.

[–][deleted] 9 insightful - 3 fun9 insightful - 2 fun10 insightful - 3 fun -  (0 children)

alternativeto.net. I was fed up with gated communities only discussing very topic-focused. The same as the IRC groups I occasionally visit.

I already read beforehand that reddit is a shithole, and only laughing at memes was a tiny little bit too shallow for my taste.

[–]RedEyedWarrior 9 insightful - 3 fun9 insightful - 2 fun10 insightful - 3 fun -  (0 children)

It was mentioned on LGBdroptheT before Reddit banned that sub. So I came over here.

I was on Reddit from 2014 to 2020. My username there was the same as it is on here. I deleted my Reddit account in anger when my favourite subreddits got banned. Unfortunately there was hardly anybody posting on Saidit outside of LGBdroptheT. So when I was bored I came back and created new subreddits just to sperg out and piss off liberals.

My second troll account was deleted after two or three months of use, right before November 2020. I forget the name of my username for that account. But I would post on AskGayBros dropping slurs here and there and deadnaming troons. Which is how I ended up getting that account popped.

My third account was in use from early 2021 to March 2022, under the name BigBrownHole36. I originally created it as a troll account in 2017 or 2018 where I posed as a liberal gay man whose boyfriend was conservative. Redditors on AskGayBros and LGBT gave interesting responses. Then I forgot about it until I remembered at the beginning of 2021. Because Ireland was on lockdown at the time, I was bored out of my skull, so I revived the account. I mostly posted on technology subreddits until I came across MakeMyCoffin. MakeMyCoffin was like WatchPeopleDie. Then I came across 4chan around May or June and I had a lot of fun there. Until the War in Ukraine happened. Then I got popped for siding with Putin. On top of that, I defended people who refused to take the Covid jab, said the word "penishu" in reference to Chinese dick sizes, and continued to make fun of trans people. So I got banned. But mostly for defending the unvaccinated and Putin.

I can't even remember how I found saidit, could a reddit sub being shut down have directed us here? I recall leaving reddit when a totally non-political sub became nothing but politics and I needed to get away.

[–][deleted] 6 insightful - 4 fun6 insightful - 3 fun7 insightful - 4 fun -  (3 children)

I used to been involved in smaller forum communities over the years, usually niche interests, gaming groups or similar close knit groups that also gathered on IRC. Spent a lot of time on IRC until about 2010. Most of those communities are now gone, one of which I stopped visiting after I found out an old friend there took his own life during a time I'd parted ways with the site, I regret not being there. Since then Ive been a drifter, sometimes finding myself in places like Ruqqus, until that disappeared. Occasionally I'd browse the web for new or alternative places where people gather to chat shit. Saidit has become that place, and despite my slightly schizo habit of changing my identity here a dozen times, it's become something of an online home lately.

[–][deleted] 4 insightful - 3 fun4 insightful - 2 fun5 insightful - 3 fun -  (2 children)

I was planning to look for a free-thinker truth-seeker community when I finished my story (but I got distracted), when I learned of SaidIt in 2018 hearing magnora7 on The Higherside Chats and Tin Foil Hat podcast (which was better when limited to an hour). Never got into Reddit culture.

Find me a better free-thinker truth-seeker site and I'll relocate, ASAP.

Oh that explains the influx. Glad to meet you. I think I came over at the very beginning when mangora7 started the place. He was an interesting chap worth following on a lot of the fringe spots I frequented. Lurked occasionally until his seeds took root.

There are a couple of annoying shill accounts here that ride the line, infuriating people to try to pull a ban and manipulate, but if you use the block button its a nice place. I tend to not use the block button because I seem to enjoy tilting at windmills.

You remember wrong, as I was posting a lot back then - daily. Unless it was during a period where M7 alienated me (and others), and I pulled back for a while.

Yes the front page was slower.

And yes, there were less folks to converse with, but it was never the ghost town you make it sound like.

Oddly enough the votes have been consistently about the same (besides the vote-tampering periods) - 10 for a good post, 20 great, 30 exceptional, more was rare. I'm not sure why.

                [–]Vulptex 4 insightful - 2 fun4 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

There were a couple of active users, but that was it. Little community. I suspect only the most active users care enough to vote most of the time.

You are confused. The front page didn't show much activity because all the interesting subs are not-first-page. There has been good activity for 3+ years.

I like the format of Reddit: it reminds me of 90's internet. But the shrill, far-left content and tendency for reasonable and thoughtful ideas to be down-voted out of existence bugged me. I didn't trust the site, somehow. Kind of seemed like a trap. It's a shame, 'cause there's some Sub-Reddits I like to browse.

Found this on a "Reddit Alternatives" list, and liked it. Really liked the lack of a down-vote button. That won me over.
