Just putting it out there.
There are literally 10s of 1000s of novels and stories and plot lines/ scripts based on mystery novel type plots.
Do police - or convicts, ever read them ?
What do they think of them if they do ?

i am a big fan of COLD CASE and FORENSICS...
one of the biggest mistakes that killers make is that they dont properly dispose of the bodies, instead they carelessly just dump it somewhere..
there is a saying that says "NO BODY = NO CRIME"..
when will they learn?
one of my favorite cases was of vlad the impaler..

They don't read them. They star in them.

Necessarely yes. After all there are a lot of true crime shows.
I'd think they start watching it after they're in the line of work long enough. They would be seeing the same things they see on real life but in fiction, that's kind of novel.
