I remembered this because of the recent 9/11 anniversary of the coup in Chile. I definitely do feel somewhat bad for the commies that were killed. Killing is wrong.
But I also don't care. Communism is one of the most violent and unstable ideologies. They happily kills their own political opponents including other socialists.
One time, I saw a Chilean commie redditor that mentioned that their parents were killed by Pinochet. It is hilarious because they are seriously pretending that their parents were innocent victims when they were actually stupid commies trying to overthrow and destabilize another nation.
Pinochet is definitely better than Allende. Allende's big brain policies led to hyperinflation rate of 600% lmao. Without Allende's stupid socialism, Chile currently has the highest standard of living in South America. Who knows how much worse Allende rule would have been? There might be been more deaths of political opponents, famines, and economic crises.
What do others think?
