Various social groups claim to stand for fair play, equal rights, etc. -- and these groups claim to be "anti-authoritarian." However, whenever group X fights allegedly authoritarian social force Y, there is considerable risk that as the fight goes on, group X will be seen as authoritarian. A group X -- e.g. FDR's administration -- might demand resources to fight group Y -- e.g. Hitler's Germany -- and after the war has progressed a bit, Americans might say that FDR is more authoritarian than Hitler.
I would like to think I am anti-authoritarian. But it is hard to prove that any individual is anti-authoritarian, and it is even harder to prove that a group is anti-authoritarian.
