Social media causes some people to throw the concept of privacy out the window
submitted 5 months ago by blackpilllife from self.AskSaidIt
It’s like some people forget what privacy even is on social media with the amount of content they get confident about sharing. People would keep a lot more content about themselves private before social media existed for example if you wanted to know what someone’s interests where before social media even existed then that someone had to be someone who would actually be comfortable with letting you in to their social group to tell you about they’re interests these days a stranger that you never even let in to your social circle can find out what your interested in if your confident about sharing what your interests are on social media. the concept of people sharing content about themselves for attention so they can feel good impacted people in two ways the first impact it had on people was to separate the people who will be willing to throw privacy away for attention from the people who will still want to keep their privacy. The second impact it had on people was the mental gymnastics it brought it how it made the difficulty of a stalkers stalking game go from hard to east thanks to the invention of social media. Stalking someone’s social media is not a violation of their privacy because it’s publicly out they’re for anyone to see.

It's one thing to be hacked and have your identity stolen, it's quite another to bitch about how your privacy is at stake when you are sharing everything, down to what you ate last meal, with billions of people on a daily basis.
