I get why people are afraid the say the word nigger. It's been like that since the dawn of the internet.

But now I see the following:

I want serious answers here? What the hell is going on? What's so offensive about the word kill?

You know what else is about "less than 8 years old"? AI.

They all claim it's because their advertisers don't want to be associated with such words. These days, perhaps they want to have their AIs trained on PC texts.

You don't even have to use swear words to get banned. All you need to do is tell a snowflake the truth and you get banned. The content on Reddit is so consistent that I am wondering what percentage is an actual human still. I can imagine that if you ask whether a selfie of the most hideous person on the planet looks good, I am sure you will still get fake positive responses like "You look great, cutie". It's all fake.

On Saidit, especially in climate threads, it seems everything is fake too.

In this thread, there are also conspiracy theories being spread, which is also a thing bots do.

I think a site on which you can't express your opinion isn't really worth anything. For a society in which you also can't do that, a similar thing holds. Such things only make sense in a fascist society or in Stalin's communism.

YTMND was a testament to those days. That site is frozen in 2005-6ish time period, and it was fun how you could pretty much post anything, and even have competitions to see what memes you could marry and make most offensive.

The pretense of freedom is getting more and more difficult to keep up.

We need to be protected from the harmful effects of certain words- especially since studies have shown that many such words have a disparate effect on vulnerable, underserved communities.

Despite multiple studies proving the harmful effects on disadvantaged populations, many uncouth, semieducated mostly white people persist in wantonly using them. Removing such demonstrably harmful and injurious units of linguistic weaponry prevents needless harm to the most vulnerable among us.

Next we need to deal with those who persist in knowingly inflicting word-harm on the less fortunate. Their disregard for public safety, security, and well being constitutes a real and imminent threat to national security and our democracy.

You know what's retarded? Since Google/reddit/YouTube etc are private companies, they can censor speech as much as they want, because people are using their platforms under their rules. X is most likely trying to suppress heated political content from the default feed using those keywords.

Remember, for a normie hitting social media, they don't want to be instantly assaulted by heated/profane political content just because it's trending. X, Instagram, FB, etc. want to present users with middle of the road, non-political content first. And if it's political, they'd rather it use clean, non-triggering language.

I mean really, whatever current events are now, what should the mainstream content of a social media site be? Politics can easily take over any public forum and drown out everything else.

Reddit has been using bots to erase posts from years ago on the basis of containing words reddit doesn't like. You can't question the criteria and many people haven't even noticed as, for now, it affects posts made 3-10 years ago.

Reddit has also been very active trying to restrict access from VPN networks. They have been reworking their code so that gradually the only way to participate reddit will be through phone verification.
