I wonder what happened to him.

Me too. One theory is he went into hiding from Weegs to not return his Monero. But I think timeline doesn't add up fully - go1dfish was on notabug.io almost daily, until he disappeared in May 2020. Last comment here is in Jun 2020, and Weegs by his words sent him crypto in Aug 2020, so something happened before all this Weegs drama.

bad-candy.com

This is pure nostalgia talking, as it was completely pointless, but at the same time I consider it iconic of the fun and innocent early internet. Nowadays that would probably be a youtube channel at best, but back in the day you could make a whole site for a totally silly project and as long as you did it well, people would actually go there.

High praise for a little list.

I almost explained why each was noteworthy.

But I'm not supposed to be here.

There's one recently vanished with no forwarding address = "The Daily Gator" and it was a website I went through every day and now poof gone. Cannot find out anything further about it.

4-6-8 daily topical news reports and then a long series of linked websites I very much enjoyed clocking through.

For me, it is definitely Yahoo! Answers. Known for its often humorous and bizarre questions and answers, Yahoo! Answers was a place where people could seek advice or information on just about anything. However, there are now many platforms that are very similar to it.

and because of that, I still don't find Quora funny

Used to hang out on yoyogames.com, was a website exclusive for uploading and playing games made with the gamemaker engine (powerful engine btw undertale was made in it). Was fun making small indie games and uploading them, playing other people's, there was an awesome community around it. Started getting shittier after the 2010s and eventually just became a corporate page to sell their product, they deleted every old game though there are archives

the original conspiracycentral forum and tracker under the original owner. new owner of concen.org is OK but I always suspected him as fed.
