Borat? Tbh I can't enjoy that cringey humor, but he certainly made a mark.

Adele? Music is very much a matter of taste, but more than one person listened to her albums.

Doctor Who reboot? QC at the beeb is only a bit tough and go. But Blink and The empty child are really good sci fi.

Sherlock? That was pretty fucking bingey.

Downton Abbey? Didn't suck. Maggie Green did kind of steal the show though.

Skeptics with a K/The Merseyside Skeptics/QED? Reputedly the best skeptical conference in the world, and they've made some headway against alt-med. Certainly not universal appeal, but important to me.

Professor Brian Cox? good science communication. (Mind you, so is professor Richard Wiseman, and he's not quite so high brow.)

I haven't seen anything better come out of the UK.

That doesn't mean I particularly liked the series, it's just the best that shithole has to offer.
