How much do you know about your ancestors?

Start from me

Paternal family: Javanese

My paternal grandfather: Leader of a youth movement in Malang, East Java, after independence he joined Indonesian Armed Force, he participated in some battles, later he earned some medals and orders, (probably) he joined the purge of communists in 1965, after retirement he decided to sent my father to study abroad at SUNY Buffalo, NY. He died in 1991 and buried in Kalibata Heroes Cemetery.

My paternal grandmother: Housewife, died during 1980s

Maternal family: Malay

My maternal grandfather: Civil servant in PU, architect, died in 2001 and buried in Tanah Kusir Cemetery, Jakarta.

My maternal grandmother: Housewife, died in 1997 (roughly one year before I was born)

My last name is one of the first recorded as Publicans in Ireland - it runs in the family, funnily enough - however we have since Anglicised after immigrating to Australia in the 70s.

Not all that much actually, mostly because my birth dad ran off when I was six. No need to cry on my account, I got a much better dad soon after.

My father is/was Mexican. I don't even know if he's still alive.

My mom is mostly Irish with some Scandinavian thrown in. My mom's side of the family migrated from Ireland to Vancouver Island and the Yukon Territory, then some of them moved to Illinois, then my grandma moved to Montana where she raised my mom. That's about the extent of my knowledge.
