I think share is useless as I don't use those services.

I think instead of save, it would be nice to just see all posts I marked insightful or funny.

I've never used hide, but I could see how someone might.

I second the idea of seeing posts I marked insightful or funny. Preferably I'd like to see them in seperate columns for insightful and funny each.

I've never used share, but I like that save and hide are available along with report.

I like it for the link, maybe a permalink-link like with comments is a good replacement.

I use "Save" most often. Never used share, hide, report. Like u/fred_red_beans said, it would be great to see all the posts I've marked insightful and funny (both seperately)

Good thinking. I currently use the "AddToAny" extension on Firefox browser to cross post things to various social platforms. Mainly here and Reddit.

If anyone runs Firefox, I suggest adding it to your extension list and try it out. Control is in the person's hand rather than the websites that way. Peace.

I forward links on a regular basis.

However, I've never used the "share" button.

I like FRB's submission save idea.

Calling the link option "share" reminds me of this.

Nope, I just copy the URL and then send it to whoever. But, I'd either remove it entirely or keep it, since it's not like the list of links under comments/posts is overflowing (even less so if you're not a moderator), and adding a "…" menu just adds to the amount of clicks that you have to do if you do want to use the option.

I've literally never used a "share" button on anything, ever.

Nope

Is this one of the code snippets that send shadow profile info to Facebook about our browsing habits and god help ya if you've logged in to FB ever on this browser?

it is nearly this code, but it is not. These are passive server side sharing widgets, we aren't loading any facebook or twitter javascript onto the page to make it work like the official sharing widgets would require.

Right on.

Thanks for the feedback. Seems like the hiding is not popular. We may just simply remove the 'share' option and call it a day

Negative. Never saw a need for the thing.

I love the idea of the "..." options.

I don't use them, but I like that they're there and unless they're problematic, I prefer having more options over less.
