I just happen to live on Pillette Street by Riverside Drive, and from my window in Windsor, Ontario, I can see the USA's Belle Isle across the Detroit River. On Friday my neighbours and I sat on the front porch and watched the world go by.
Originally, Motor City Detroit had their annual Detroit Drive, up Woodward. Folks in Windsor started doing the same. Apparently this was the 5th though my neighbour kept saying it was the 6th. I used to be a hermit and had never even heard of it until I happened to come out for air.
MANY folks came out, both in their cars and as spectators lining the street - all without masks save for about 1 in 50 or so. My neighbour said it was the first time he felt "normal" since the COVID hoax was thrust upon us. There was certainly a spirit of celebration and maybe even cheerful rebelliousness in folks, even among the old.
Another neighbour remarked how there were just so freaking many and that Detroit had really turned out for it - but he was corrected by another neighbour who pointed out that the borders were closed and that people from all over come to Canada's Motor City: Windsor, especially for this event but also for other car shows too.
Photo by me (Mirrored on Wikimedia Commons). I can upload more upon request as I took 229 photos but only half were decent. There really was a huge diversity of vehicles, though I didn't see any Teslas nor obviously electric vehicles (but I don't have a keen eye for cars).
