I'm a young person and yes my peers are into this shit, but I think it's stupid. A bisexual person is capable of feeling attraction to both sexes, but if you don't want a straight/gay romantic relationship just say that. There's no need to try and define it as "romantic attraction". Even when I was a TRA, I understood that "romantic attraction" was made up (though I didn't admit it); it's clearly just a preference and not on the same level as a sexual orientation. I also think that young bi people identifying as "queer" are a threat to gay/lesbian rights.
