The historian goes through great detail describing conditions for the Pilgrims in England, later Holland, and WHY they decided to go to America and HOW. This is great reading - in general around the Thanksgiving holiday but in particular with what is happening in our country right now. It is good to think about what they had to think about and prepare and how they went about starting a life in another country. Granted this was 400 years ago but it's interesting how so much has changed but essentially humans haven't changed at all. The more things change the more they stay the same.

Anyway this is also simply good reading. I highly recommend it.
