There's been an effort by the ruling groups to destroy relationships and the family unit so people need to struggle to keep genuine interactions alive. Even when it comes to politics a lot of people end up becoming part of those groups in bad faith or maybe they do believe in such ideals, but they are hardly the most ideal ones for the nation...

By creating genuine communities and relationships people can resist this bad influence. It's basically saving a large part of what makes us human.
