Apparently it was only experimental, or a data harvesting place that didn't get anything useful lol, like this one prolly. In other words, the owner decided his line of business wasn't a good idea bc not only would he be cancelled he would be doxed and shoved up a trannies ass. It's funny how a open source reddit that can have so many clones, as aaron wanted becomes 3-4 sites that nobody uses. Down to only a few sites. I use Stolenhistory and ruqqus, sometimes reddit to see what the gassed are talking about. Tell me why I should use this site? Isn't the owner a mason?

Right now SaidIt has the most free speech. I am hoping to use SaidIt code to make another site with true free speech, see /s/FreedIt.

Having extensive experience with the reddit code base, I can say confidently that it's faux open source and was never intended for others to use. Token open source. Spez never gave two shits about Swartz. I think Ohanion/Mrs. Williams did a bit though.

yep, that's part of it, they omitted all admin tools. and left it very behind reddit.com. and left it broken out of the box.

Maybe you just don't understand how it works. They have a basic code underlying the main code, that you can use as a forum in all regards without moderation. He even has notes about doing it in the code. So the prbmlem you have is bc it needs a moderator code? Why mod at all? Let the shit fly imo.

I'm not in love with Saidit, but I like it because:

  1. it has a Reddit-like interface
  2. yet is not Reddit and actually has decent conversations that aren't heavily censored
  3. and unlike Ruqqus, it still exists

My expectations was forum like, 100's of clones. like 4 chan but much bigger, since it's so easy to do, (aarons words) I personally don't know how. You switch between 1000's of self hosted servers.
