Anyone have some Linux tips and tricks for newbies?
Limited experience:
I superficially used Linux professionally while computer animating 1994-1998/9 (thereafter much of CGI migrated to Windows) plus a bit more on occasion here and there. Unlike the animation programs, I was never deep into Linux, never will be, and have forgotten whatever I may have once known. Nonetheless, it's well past time to migrate as far from Facebook, Google, and Windows as possible.
My initial priorities:
1) I have at least a few days before I'm ready to rock.
2) After a fresh installation of Mint Cinnamon, my top priority will be setting up an internal 3x 8tb drive array (beside my 1tb SSD). I'll be seeking recommendations.
3) My next priority will be installing 100% FLOSS apps for audio/video production. I'll be seeking recommendations.
4) I'll be setting up my desktop work environment and work flow. I'll be seeking recommendations, including equivalents to Rainlendar, Rainmeter, Notepad++, etc.
5) I may set up some torrenting, preferably automated.
6) I will soon be largely withdrawing from SaidIt to focus on /s/LeverMind, /s/Rut_To_Groove, /s/Projex, /s/LearningLinux, and /s/Moto_G. Anyone want to co-develop content?
Anyone want to co-mod /s/LearningLinux?
