Being dogfree in a dog loving societyValidation Seeking

Does anyone else out there feel like the only one in their lives that doesn't care for dogs? I know I do. I have yet to meet a person around here that didn't at least like dogs. Even though I have dogfree friends online, I'd really love to meet someone in person that felt the same way.

It's a hard topic to bring up to begin with. Admitting you hate dogs to the wrong person is pretty much gonna end whatever social life you have. I tend to play off my hatred of dogs as fear, but that just results in people in my life trying to "fix" me by introducing me to dogs that are "friendly" and "people loving". I wish someone in my life could understand.

There are plenty of people that don't have a dog, or don't really care either way. I don't know many people that hate dogs though. Do you know why you hate dogs? I feel like for your own sake it might be better if you were just indifferent to them.

I mainly hate dogs from loads of bad experiences. I've lost pets to them, I've been chased countless times, I've been kept awake with barking at night. Every dog I meet barks at me.

Even being indifferent is not enough. People will find you strange if you don't absolutely love dogs.
