There are European countries and states in the USA that recognize it as a religion in as much as you can wear the headgear on your drivers license. I like the point they try to make by pointing out the difference of 'religion' and 'religious institute' and always had a feeling that it wasn't so much an atheistic movement as it was to parody Scientology https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scientology_status_by_country
