How about posting once in the most relevant sub? I don't like seeing three of the same posts in a row either.

Me either. I ONLY crosspost if it's worthy and when it's topical to several subs, selecting the most apt. This is M7's attempt to solve the problem of not having metatags / hashtags. He came up with it and he allows it.

More critically important, even if SaidIt currently has a poor search engine and we may not have the tools yet, there's no reason all the research on SaidIt may not one day be better archived, sorted, and valued for research - especially in a darker future of censorship. With great tools that day may come, meanwhile, this is the best we have, annoying as it is. And time consuming for me too.

This is a programming problem. No content should ever be duplicated. Cross-posts should be marked as such and link back to the thread in the most appropriate sub.

EXACTLY!!!

Doesn't even have to be "the most appropriate sub" - just the first one posted to.

And there should be vigilance for redundancies. For example, all the same video:

Right, but this probably would require rewriting half the website because saidit is just reddit's code from n years ago. Just patching a cross-posting feature on top of the existing code, I'd imagine, would be a nightmare.
