Defending kink like proper liberal feminists would, talking about it not being harmful, not misogynistic, that it can happen in a loving relationship, that the "sub has all the power" and other junk arguments.

I have not seen radical feminists try to argue it should be public or in front of children, thank God, but that's setting the bar pretty low.

Do you really think that rather than engaging with them and showing them a different opinion, we should cancel them and take away their feminist card?

Is this helpful? What does it achieve? Who decides who meets the purity standards and who does not? Do we take the cards away for other impure thoughts or actions?

No, I don't think we should cancel them. Where did I say that? But I don't think that type of thing should be allowed on Ovarit. On a debate sub, sure. But Ovarit specifically has rules against promoting kink.

It’s kind of implied by the whole ‘losing their card’ thing. So report them? Why does it have to devolve into the purity spiral?

Is ovarit even strictly radfem?

Again, who decides who is pure enough? Where does it end?

That's exactly what I'm questioning. Where does it end? I feel like I'm not getting my thoughts across very well because everyone seems to be confused.

Is ovarit even strictly radfem?

Not strictly, no, but it's meant to uphold radical feminist principles. Hence the rules against promoting kink.

They don’t end. Nobody is pure enough and it directs focus towards useless infighting, and the exact same crap that constantly goes on in qt circles.

Trying to kick these women out instead of first guiding them towards a better understanding is no different to “educate yourself” in response to us questioning gender.

I'm not arguing for kicking them out. But I do think if they repeatedly break the rules, that should be dealt with. There are a million websites where they can promote kink. Ovarit is not one of them.

I’m not saying you are, or that they should be able to promote their fetishes 🙄

I’m asking who gets the authority to issue and take away cards, who gets a card, what’s pure and what’s not, who’s next on the chopping block, etc etc etc. describing how useless purity spirals are isn’t having a go at you…

No worries. I feel like I'm coming off weird in this whole thread. I'm confused on the issue myself.

I feel like the radical feminist community should have some standards. A part of the belief system is being anti-porn, anti-prostitution, and anti-BDSM. However, you see people try to take it from there and go into increasingly debatable territory, such as declaring all PIV or all oral sex on males to be problematic. The community is small, so it's not like it's beneficial to harass women for not being perfectly pure in their private lives. But if they are way off base, I think it is fair to say "hey, you're not a radical feminist if you believe and do these things." But that's only if they're being egregiously in favor of misogynistic acts. If it's something small or if they realize it's bad but can't stop themselves, we should maybe make some allowances there.

We do have standards. The standards are radfem beliefs.

Instead of answering fools policing people with policing them and taking away their imaginary card, a mature response is to open a dialogue and if they persist in arguing against the site rules, report them. You can try and say who is and isn’t a radfem and others can no doubt come up with reasons why you aren’t a radfem.

It’s pointless. Two people having a petty squabble over who’s a better radfem when there’s girls having their clitorises forcibly removed in the world is achieves as much to do anything for radfem principles and qt does.

It seems like you don’t like the idea of opening a dialogue or simply reporting them and moving on. Nobody is stopping you from telling them they’re not as feminist as you but again, it doesn’t achieve anything.
