Any space on the internet that is mixed sex (so happy to say that without fear) is ultimately a male space. I've been considering building a similar app for just women because otherwise men be doing what men do.

We have mods here who will eventually weed out the trolls one by one. It may take a while.

OP, the males here are the only allies you're going to get in the fight against censorship.

Can you point to where your comment lies on the Pyramid of Debate?

Welcome to Saidit.

Care to explain to us all your logic behind this comment being high on the Pyramid of Debate?

You can do what you want I don't personally care and I doubt any sane individual will give too much of a fuck about what you do here. I was just browsing the site and seeing what this site has to offer, until I came across this.

To be clear, you were banned from reddit by people who share the same sentiment you have towards men, towards you, and now you're bringing that same sort of resentment to a new place you wish to inhabit. That's not healthy in any way, for the community or yourself. You kind of owe it to the new community to be as open minded as possible, as it's a new space and a new start; there's no reason to be bashful or even resentful. I can understand not wanting trolls, but to insinuate that all trolls are going to be male is really short sighted and extremely biased.

You can do what you want, like I said I don't care and I'll probably never visit this sub again (cause I don't have interest in stuff like this). Just figured I'd impart a different perspective and maybe change your mind about some stuff.Anyways best of luck.

You talk about ope-mindedness, but lack the intelligence to understand that this is a space for women. For us. Not for you. We're not against men, we're against men invading our spaces and centering themselves in discussions that are not for them. We don't need to consider the way you feel when discussing issues that affect us! Figure it out.

A few things: A lot of former GC members have come over here and they're really hurting and angry right now because of what happened. So they're venting here. At the same time, regular Saidit members are suddenly seeing all these GC posts flooding their main page. Many probably never heard of GD before and naturally they'll be curious to come in and find out what's going on. Saidit also has its own rules to prompt debates which the existing members have been following, and so they're just doing what they've always been doing here. But the new GC women migrating here are all new and don't know that yet. The operators of this site and the mods of this sub are fixing things now so everything should end up fine for everybody. You all please give it a little time. When the dust settles, things will operate more as desired by everyone.

Regarding GC "censorship", yes and no. It's really a lot more nuanced. The whole reason why this GC group takes such a hardline is because they are being censored everywhere else. They're not censoring because they don't want to fundamentally debate and reason. In fact, if they can debate and reason and be heard instead of being shut down everywhere, they wouldn't need this place so much in the first place. They're censoring some things as a practice, but the reason behind it and the intent is not to not hear different ideas (which would've been contrary to the purpose of Saidit). The reason it imposes some censorship is so that GC views and women's voices can actually be heard. In that respect, I ask that existing Saidit members to try and understand why we need this space, and why the current hostile tone.

I for one don't need "safe space" in the Woke sense. Words and differing opinions are not "literal violence". It's a stupid concept I'll never buy into. I'm just tired of having to keep silent.

I also read in another Saidit thread yesterday where some current members don't think it's good to have separate GC_debate sub, and I think they gave some very good reasons. Perhaps one solution to have this space be for women but also support the spirit of Saidit would be to have one mega thread within this sub for men to ask questions--not so much to argue our basic beliefs are wrong, but to question and explore according to their pyramid questioning model. And any woman who cares to handhold and explain can do that in that thread, but those who can't be bother can just skip it? I'm sure some women would disagree with this proposal, which is fine. I just thought I'd throw it out there.

I like this idea.

When members of your community post titles which literally amount to "if you're X then fuck off" then I mean, maybe there should be some introspective on what the community is trying to achieve. I can understand if you want a place to rant, I understand that, but what use does excluding an entire section of the population (and likely majority of this site) from your discussions exactly solve besides lessening the "yeah but.." debate?

As I said above, I don't really care and to be completely honest, I don't think a lot of saidit's average users will care either, about the overall existence of your group/community. At the end of the day, you're gonna do what you wanna do. My only objective was to inject a message to the original creator of the post, to say maybe exercise a little couth and perhaps a little understanding, in that when you give off that kind of energy, you're also welcoming it in return. This message seems to have been completely disregarded and that's basically what I expected.

Anyway I'll stop wasting your time.

Like I said, I don't really care too much about how you conduct yourself here and to be honest I don't really think the average individual cares too much either about the tone or depth of your discussions. My main point, is that resentment is a bad thing to bring anywhere especially a new space. But, like I already said, I don't browse this sub and this will probably be the last time I post anything here, because obviously you guys want this to be an echo chamber (which is fine if that's how you want it to be). I wish you guys the best of luck.

If you don't care then go away...? Amazing how men think we care about their opinions on matters than apply to women! We are here to fight for WOMEN, not to water down our positions so they're more palatable to you.

Why not join a local men's golf club? I see men's groups on social media and happily jog on.....

[–]davidcit646 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I don't belong to any club and I don't need to belong to any club. I don't need the sympathy or empathy of others to go about my day and fulfill my daily activities and I don't really need a vent, because my problems are my problems. I have a group of friends, and that's pretty much it. To be frank, I don't want to join your woman's club either, because I have no interest in it. Women's problems aren't my problems, and from the response I received, it looks as if you guys don't want it to be my problem either.

Also fuck golf. I hate golf.
