Broadly it goes like this.

LGB people spend decades building up political and corporate support in the fight for gay marriage, which was achieved in 2015 in the USA (slightly earlier or later in other countries). Once that fight was over what was left was a lot of activist groups who suddenly saw their funding drying up and these were groups all run by people who had made careers out of being activists.

Along came transgender activists and gave these groups funding and something to be activists about again. Virtually overnight in the USA all of these LGBT groups switched to all trans all the time and it's steadily become worse and worse over the past 5 years.

So to sum up, they have canibalised the gay rights movement and are using it as a cover to spread their gender cult.

This is a good summary of our take. Also... worth following the money. It is my understanding that there is a lot of money to be made by there being more and more trans folks. Hormones for life/surgeries is great for BigPharma, note the explosion of new "gender clinics." So if you trace the money, lots of the support for TQWTF+ by industry looking to make more money. Those industries fund a lot of lobbying.

I already know whats going to happen, the trans movement is toxic. I hope the LGB community dosen't lose their hard earned rights because of the crazyness going on right now.

While I have nothing against trans people living their life minding their own business, it becomes a problem when I see the trans community isnt fighting to get rid of predatory men pretending to be women. Its become so easy for men to identify female now, its crazy

^ All of this, and now we're also seeing the same hollowing-out and co-opting of BLM by TRAs.

I've noticed this as well.

They are--just like the men that dominate their numbers--parasites.

In addition to what others have said, there's also quite a high number of TIMs in STEM. They've got a lot of influence over the leftist-techy-utopia bubble.

It makes a lot of sense really. People with tech related hobbies tend to live in their fantasies (I say this as a woman in STEM who grew up on video games and internet fandom communities - I can relate). The more tech savvy you are, the more freedom and power you have to indulge your fantasies online. And being trans is an extreme form of fantasy...

Insightful, and funny. +3

This is a great observation. I'd also put forth the correlation between having autism or autistic tendencies and being trans; I'd imagine STEM attracts a lot of neuro non-typicals.

[–]Complicated-Spirit 19 insightful - 2 fun19 insightful - 1 fun20 insightful - 2 fun -  (7 children)

TIM are men. The people opposing their identification as women, entry into women-only spaces and discussions, etc. are women. The people supporting their integration and groveling are their feet are also, generally speaking, women, but more gender-ideologically aligned, obviously. When I speak of “women” in the rest of this post, I mean the latter.

As men, TIM are socially conditioned to be aggressive and demand what they want. Scientific studies have also shown multiple times that over half of TIMs have Narcissistic Personality Disorder, which is evidenced by a firm sense of self-importance and entitlement from others, as well as a well-honed ability to manipulate other people - emotionally, through threats, creating or taking advantage of an imbalance of power, etc. - to get their desires fulfilled.

Women, on the other hand, are socially conditioned to be submissive and pleasing towards others, to be “peacemakers” whose ultimate purpose is to make other people happy, especially people who claim to be unhappy. The more aggressive (i.e., man-like) they are, the more a woman feels compelled to appease them.

When a TIM demands something, such as access to a woman’s space, he does so aggressively and persistently, and also manipulates women by playing on their emotions in order to represent himself as “wronged” by not getting what he wants - a typical NPD tactic. The women who are taken in by this are motivated not only to help someone who is doing his best to appear as the oppressed party, but also because they feel that it’s their job to soothe his ruffled feathers, make him feel better, and stand up for him.

For all intents and purposes, he is still behaving like a stereotypical, culturally-trained man, and she is still behaving like a stereotypical, culturally-trained woman.

I'm a man, and I also oppose their identification as "women". Trans-folk deserve rights as individuals, but no one has ever had the privileged to redefine their physical gender.

As men, TIM are socially conditioned to be aggressive and demand what they want.

Also agree, but would also include the that male hormones also increase: aggression, physical strength, size, bone structure, etc.

I get the impression that pointing out the difference in physiology is somewhat taboo.

This is surprising; given the fundamental issue is purely physiological.

Is discussion of physiology a taboo subject, or was it censored by Reddit?

he is still behaving like a stereotypical, culturally-trained man, and she is still behaving like a stereotypical, culturally-trained woman.

This is problematic.

Particularly, if the women dealing with this issue are not interested in enlisting support from men to solve this issue. This is an observation, and not meant as a criticism.

Actually GC people discuss it all the time. Liberal feminists would rather pretend everyone is a blank slate, but it's quite clear throughout nature that testosterone has powerful effects, particularly the surges in puberty. Just boysvswomen.com and https://journals.plos.org/plosone/article?id=10.1371/journal.pone.0016885 are a couple of many many examples of that truth. Thus, why women need some spaces to retreat to and be safe.

P.S. Hi fellow Tolkien fan!

That's encouraging, and probably why GC was banned from Reddit.

Liberal feminists would rather pretend everyone is a blank slate

Where world GC consensus generally be located on the narrowly political spectrum?

Thus, why women need some spaces to retreat to and be safe.

Agreed. Bathrooms should be the most obvious spaces.
Crazy times were living in. :-/

P.S. Hi fellow Tolkien fan!

The Old Forest will ever be a safe space. ;-)

As a female, I agree with his observation. We don't like when women are stereotyped, so I think we should avoid stereotyping men who would otherwise be willing to join our fight. Divisiveness is not going to help us win this fight. Let's welcome allies and remember what we're really fighting for here.

I think it's a combination of access to the LGB activist infrastructure, the overrepresentation of transwomen in tech, and the way in which TRA activism becomes a socially acceptable form of misogyny. It's hard not to notice that there is an overlap between incel/MRA rhetoric and TRA rhetoric and that some transwomen writers literally were MRAs who decided to transition.

Also, it's an easy way for men to feel progressive without having to sacrifice anything. I think it was Dr. Stock who wrote an article about this in regards to philosophy. For the most part, transmen are not able to redefine man or access male spaces in the way transwomen are doing the reverse (hmm... I wonder why that could be?)

I also think that whether by accident or design, the movement was smart in how it burst into wider public view. As I saw it, the bathroom bills were what propelled trans-rights into national consciousness. It instantly aligned progressive politics with trans advocacy and was sympathetic... people just wanted to pee. Who could argue with that? Especially because (I think) most people assumed that transmen and transwomen were like what we saw up through 2010... primarily same-sex oriented people who medically transitioned as best as they could to try and then lead perfectly ordinary lives as the opposite sex. The trans kids furthered that impression because kids are sympathetic and their lives are very medicalized. We didn't know that Tumblr was busy promoting the idea that biological sex isn't real or how much work was being done to dismantle safeguarding requirements. By the time it became impossible to ignore that, social media had already baked in that part of progressive identity was trans advocacy with no questions or qualms.

It also doesn't help that it is very difficult to talk about the issues with transvestic fetishization or AGP without sounding transphobic. I don't know how to get around the fact.

R/itsafetish had pretty much the best approach, IMO. Sharing direct examples says more than anyone else ever could.

r/thisneverhappens as well. both of these should probably be backed up before reddit hits them

[–]Anna_Nym 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

It's true. I would never have believed that AGP reflected some trans people's experiences without seeing trans people talk about it themselves. I still don't know how much I buy into the simple Blanchard typology, but it's clear that there is a real distinction between lifelong body dysphoria and fetishistic motivation. (Just like it's obvious that the ROGD theory is getting at something real if you spend any time reading what teen transitioners and detransitioners are saying about themselves.)

tl'dr a bunch of rich trans people bankroll the modern trans rights movement. I've been giving this article to tons of people lately.

Thanks for sharing that. It details many specific individuals, groups, and events. It's a useful reference.

You should post it to the conspiracy sub, or similar. Many others here will be in interested in the content of this article.

Also . . . not to over-pathologize, but there are valid mental health questions that are both pressing and taboo:

  • compelling overlap of Bipolar and Cluster B Personality Disorder traits with transitioners and within trans activist orgs as social entities

  • questions about flavor-of-the-month over-diagnoses like Gender Dysphoria that serve as pathways to transitioning (pay-for-play and state-healthcare-supported)

  • disproportionate influence of TRA (trans rights activists) on approval of grants and research funding in academia -- mostly the social sciences, but creeping into STEM

  • serious Hippocratic and malpractice concerns about trans medical intervention (puberty blockers, hormones) for adolescents

IMO this is the scary part, where trans activism morphs from consenting-adult-liberties into drivers of research, clinical practice, and government policy. All of which is happening.

Because transgenders successfully exploited the idea of "intersectionality" feminists created. They used feminism against feminists. Unfortunately, feminists didn't fight that when they should have and now gender ideology is now deemed an integral part of feminism.

Feminism needs to learn from that or feminism is doomed to fail for good. See how it's deemed inclusive to silence feminists? and feminists are now deemed "bigots" if they refuse to accept gender identity?

Libfem is not feminism, radfems need to acknowledge that or they'll be definitively kicked out of the movement they created.

In retrospect, "intersectionality" was a mistake, because its boundaries were badly defined. radfems need to drop intersectionality because it will always allow entrism and weaken feminism. Feminism cannot be about feminism + thousands of different adjacent struggles. No movement can fight for every possible grievance, ultimately, some of these grievances will clash with each other.
