Hold on a minute. How can someone be allowed to use 'persons who menstruate' but not be allowed to use 'menstrual cycle'. Should it not be 'persons who uterine bleed'?

Also, what if you neither uterine bleed nor produce sperm - what are you then?

Should it not be 'persons who uterine bleed'?

Can't use the 'U' word either. It should be persons who bleed from the internal organs.

That's hilarious, when you put it all together it doesn't make any sense. It sounds like you're talking about someone hemorrhaging.

Anyone else notice that "less gendered" means "vague and nonspecific"?

If I refer to your "internal glands", do I mean prostate? Salivary? Milk glands? Your thyroid?

How ridiculous.

Pituitary? Adrenals? How about the master gland, the spleen?

how is menstrual cycle gendered? how do we speak of specific organs?? I can just imagine trying to diagnose someone ... my internal organs are hurting is very helpful when trying to figure out whats wrong. I do not know whether to laugh or cry or have any reaction because there are so many

LOL in medical matters there's already a huge distinction among different parts of the uterus, not distinguishing between uterus and ovaries not to hurt people's feelings is completely crazy

I can't believe this is real even though I know it is.

[–]materialrealityplz 5 insightful - 2 fun5 insightful - 1 fun6 insightful - 2 fun -  (1 child)

It's extremely surreal. I have begun to think Elon Musk is right and we are living in a simulated reality and someone turned up the insane meter.

You should watch George Carlins "Euphemism and Political Correctness" stand up comedy.

He literally predicted the future. He ended his show with "Rape victims will be refered to as unwilling sperm recepients" heres the link to the legendary video

Literally dumbing down the language and adding vagueness to hide the bullshit lie they’re pushing.

Help! I have cysts on my internal organs - which ones? You know, my internal organs, just go digging around!

The goalposts are about to get moved right off the edge of the planet.

Letters from the 21st Century:

“Dear Birthing Person, .....“

[–]Realwoman 7 insightful - 4 fun7 insightful - 3 fun8 insightful - 4 fun -  (0 children)

Isn't the word birth too gendered? Maybe we should say hatching instead

[–]madtofu 7 insightful - 2 fun7 insightful - 1 fun8 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

So ridiculous. I laughed at this, but I am really fucking angry about it, too. I'll be damned if I ever refer to a mother as a "birthing person."

[–]MarkJefferson 12 insightful - 1 fun12 insightful - 0 fun13 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

Every term that reminds TRAs of biological reality is potential hate speech.

[–]ruskiix 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Honestly I wouldn’t be surprised if they tried to say women should alter their biology to avoid being transphobic, because female bodies functioning naturally doesn’t validate trans people. (They obviously wouldn’t ask anything of males, though, because men would say no and everyone would agree it was too much to ask.)

[–]SillyMoneyGoose 11 insightful - 1 fun11 insightful - 0 fun12 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

I bet if this actually happened, after some time TRAs would find 'uterine bleeding' offensive too, and would have to fina a new-new term to refer to menstrual bleeding

[–][deleted] 11 insightful - 1 fun11 insightful - 0 fun12 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Dehumanizing people like this is scary, that's how people end up doing evils to others.

[–][deleted] 11 insightful - 1 fun11 insightful - 0 fun12 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Weird that the claim to be women, yet are trying to erase everything about us

[–]zephyranthes 11 insightful - 1 fun11 insightful - 0 fun12 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Are you wondering why this isn't even internally consistent?

It doesn't have to be. The point is to degrade and humiliate us. The more confusing the rules are, the "better" - be afraid to speak, don't think for yourself, and suck the girldick.

[–]hylia 10 insightful - 1 fun10 insightful - 0 fun11 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Imagine testing your children this. It’s too vague and not descriptive. Children need to understand it’s a labia minora and labia majora. Not “folds”

[–]threefingersam 9 insightful - 2 fun9 insightful - 1 fun10 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

Oh that's right, make women's anatomy super vague so we can't get proper medical treatment -_-

Chest-feeding sounds so gruesome. Like those chestbursters from Alien.

[–]RestingWitchface 8 insightful - 1 fun8 insightful - 0 fun9 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

So a vulva is "external genitals" but a penis is "outer parts". That's not confusing at all.

[–]badMADam 6 insightful - 3 fun6 insightful - 2 fun7 insightful - 3 fun -  (1 child)

So they suggest using "Internal Organs" instead of Uterus/Ovaries, but the bad word suddenly is okay to use instead of Period/Menstruation, as they suggest to use "Uterine Bleeding" but then a woman is supposed to be called "Person who menstruates"... wow.

Also the disparity between "Person who menstruates" and "Person who pr o d u c e s sperm doesn't sit well with me at all! The adequate counterpart to a "Person who produces sperm" would be a "Person who produces ovule" (But maybe this is not passive and dehumanizing enough in comparison to males, just like "Birthing persons" sounds somewhat passive and ridicculous). What would be a more fitting counterpart to a person who menstruates? Maybe a person who ejaculates?

[–][deleted] 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Yep I've produced many many eggs in my 47 years but never "birthed" anyone. What does that make me? 🙄

"Preganant" Women

(can't get the link right oh well)

So if any subreddits ever used the "violent" language from the right side, they represent hate speech and must be taken down. LET'S GO!!!

If Reddit refuses to ban all its subreddits, it must be a transphobic website.

[–]koalayoga 5 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 0 fun6 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I was in an Ayurveda postpartum class where they are using the term "birther" to describe mothers. I have already complained but was not taken seriously...and I'm dropping the class. I'll post this link separately as a topic, as well, but we need to start complaining to these women-owned companies that are using this type of language - if you have a moment, send them an email - https://sacredwindowstudies.com/

But what about women who are in menopause. I guess that means we are just nothing.

[–]russkayacabbage[S] 3 insightful - 4 fun3 insightful - 3 fun4 insightful - 4 fun -  (0 children)

You know menopausal women are just weeks away from death anyway, so you're not even worthy of a humiliating descriptor

[–]Realwoman 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

Internal organs and internal glands can refer to so many things. How would you know if I'm talking about my liver, my uterus or my pancreas?

[–]Realwoman 6 insightful - 3 fun6 insightful - 2 fun7 insightful - 3 fun -  (0 children)

Also, you can't say uterus but you have to to use uterine bleeding 🤔

[–]materialrealityplz 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

What, lmao!!

Just labeling body parts is 'gendered langauge' and offensive? These people need therapy to handle reality, not society pushed to pretend it doesn't exist.

[–]WinterWoman 2 insightful - 4 fun2 insightful - 3 fun3 insightful - 4 fun -  (0 children)

😂😂😂 "Chestfeeder weds External Genitals"

[–]hylia 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Notice how most of these are directed towards women?

[–]fijupanda 2 insightful - 3 fun2 insightful - 2 fun3 insightful - 3 fun -  (0 children)

birthing persons... eye twitches

oh for the love of everything.

[–][deleted] 2 insightful - 2 fun2 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

But but but menstruating is not bleeding unless it is pathological. It's shedding of um uh yeah nah what um some kind of ew yuck internal organ lining tissue. Now I hate myself for saying that. 🙄

[–]respectmyidentity 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

This is terrifying.
