Wow. The comments from all the supposed actual women ... "Thank you so much kind mods for bringing some new people around so they can police every word I say about my disease. Having PCOS isn't hard enough, I'm totes up for being judged and walking on eggshells in a place where I ought to feel free to express myself."

[–]Diversity_Racket 23 insightful - 1 fun23 insightful - 0 fun24 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

"Cyst-folk strong!" Someone else said PCOS is why they identify as non-binary...? Okay...?

And tons of comments congratulating this shift towards "inclusivity": "So glad to see this inclusivity statement!!"

Everyone is so hung up on that damn word. The very purpose of equity is lifting people up (whether it be access to opportunity, jobs, etc) according to their specialized needs, NOT supporting everyone in the exact same way (that's equality and inclusivity - those are not what is needed here). We need equity and exclusivity to properly address and bridge differences between people, so everyone is on an equal playing field. You'd think with all these woke people, they'd understand the difference, but they don't. It may seem like much ado about nothing, but if they're going to use these terms to manipulate, they need to at least understand them first.

How much do you want to bet half those posts are fake? Any transmen I’ve encountered met were low key.
If there is a need for a PCOS board that also discusses hormonal treatment that are necessary for transition (for FTM trans) why don’t they create a new sub? I’m sure transitioning PCOS sufferers experience unique problems that a regular PCOS sufferer would not.

"Inclusivity" means allowing males to take over and turn it to shit.

https://www.removeddit.com/r/PCOS/comments/hmlhjc/rpcos_is_an_inclusive_community/

People were deliberately attacked by trans activists on the above thread-- as you can see, people being called "dumb bitch" and begging for the mods to intervene were banned and/or had their posts removed.

Here's the official link and you can see the above posters' remarks were removed. https://www.reddit.com/r/PCOS/comments/hmlhjc/rpcos_is_an_inclusive_community/

Here's a thread on GC Guys about the fall out. Honestly, women need to leave reddit... and they will NOT successfully avoid having mods micro-target them and ban them and their newly created subs

Yes to leaving Reddit!!! It's just torturous to watch at this point.

[–]windrunner 7 insightful - 1 fun7 insightful - 0 fun8 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

they've actually twisted the story and said that terfs were the ones attacking trans people there lol it's all over reddit on AHS and other pro-trans subs.

[–][deleted] 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I mean, they can track people via ISPs and the like, and they have Reddit's support. I think if we were brigading them, they'd know.

[–][deleted] 5 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 0 fun6 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

One comment that was saved to the r/watch Reddit die sub, referred to “toxic GC subs” and the need to alert the “masstagger” even though the sub was below their “5K sub ban” list. I guess it is their whistle that they use to gang up on any perceived infraction.

[–][deleted] 6 insightful - 1 fun6 insightful - 0 fun7 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Yes. They literally tag GC posters and follow them. If we collectively went to any sub, that sub would be "flagged" and it would be brigaded and possibly banned.

[–]strawberryfields4evr 32 insightful - 1 fun32 insightful - 0 fun33 insightful - 1 fun -  (7 children)

I am so absolutely disgusted by all of this. We just need to encourage women away from that subreddit as much as possible. I would never recommend it, so we just need to build up supportive communities elsewhere. If we tell people to stay away I'm sure that would make them more curious of what's going on. A huge part of having PCOS for me is "feeling like a man" and feeling like a broken woman as a result of my disease. I will talk about my body parts as and when I want to.

[–][deleted] 12 insightful - 1 fun12 insightful - 0 fun13 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I agree. Reddit has also taken over and displaced many smaller scale online forums, which is a shame, and also reduces potential profit for small-forum hosts. It’s like the Wal-Mart of message boards, where most “employees” don’t even earn a paycheck!

[–]OrneryStruggle 7 insightful - 1 fun7 insightful - 0 fun8 insightful - 1 fun -  (5 children)

I want a sub about PCOS elsewhere but where?

[–]RestingWitchface 6 insightful - 1 fun6 insightful - 0 fun7 insightful - 1 fun -  (4 children)

I honestly think we need a female version of Reddit that is 100% female-run and female-centered. I know a GC version is being made, but it would be good to have one for other subs too and to have them in the same place.

[–]womenopausal 7 insightful - 1 fun7 insightful - 0 fun8 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I'm not saying anything....but watch our social media for updates.

[–]OrneryStruggle 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

I agree. I would really like an equivalent of r/PCOS - I had just started reversing some of my worst PCOS symptoms with no help from my doctor, largely based on the recommendations from that sub. A lot of people need resources like it, but already so many people have left or been booted from the sub because they are evil wrongthinkers i.e. sane.

[–]RestingWitchface 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

I don't have PCOS, but I have suffered other female-only health problems. I achieved complete recovery, but only because of the advice of online communities of women. If it were up to my doctors, I would have been on ineffective and harmful medications for the rest of my life. These networks are so essential, especially when we are so badly let down by the medical/healthcare system.

[–]OrneryStruggle 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Late response but yeah, it was the first thing I found that started helping me because a decade of seeking medical help was completely fruitless. I don't know what I'm going to do now that it's been taken over by men.

[–]Sun_bear 27 insightful - 1 fun27 insightful - 0 fun28 insightful - 1 fun -  (6 children)

I just checked out r/pcos and there was a thread where they talk about how they're going to be inclusive now. There seemed to be unanimous support - does the average woman with PCOS support female erasure or were they being brigaded by TRA trolls who want it to seem like women are ok with this?

I have PCOS, it's shit. I've got no idea why TIFs would want to take hormones to artificially create this problem in themselves. It seems like an example of self-harm to me. I also wonder why they can't create their own support forum and leave r/PCOS for the women who need it.

Edit: wrote exclusive when I meant inclusive

[–]MezozoicGay 35 insightful - 3 fun35 insightful - 2 fun36 insightful - 3 fun -  (0 children)

And comments like: "yo I’m a transwoman and I didn’t even know what PCOS was just heard this sub was brigaded by tErFs." in /r/PCOS/ are only making me facepalm.

[–]radfem_on_the_run 26 insightful - 1 fun26 insightful - 0 fun27 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Yeah it looks like all the opposing voices were silenced, which makes it looks like everyone is down with it when they're not.

[–][deleted] 20 insightful - 2 fun20 insightful - 1 fun21 insightful - 2 fun -  (1 child)

I‘ve got no idea why TIFs would want....

Because they’re mentally ill, and seem to have a domination fetish.

[–]yishengqingwa666 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Here is a link to the thread that set it on the course to shutting down and going private. It's pretty clear to see that ordinary users were sick of this shit, but they're trying to make it out like they were outliers or T***s.

Just want to confirm - at least one of the mods is a Transwoman and doesn't hide it in any way. That individual is also a moderator of TwoXChromosomes.

I would ask "why would someone who never experiences PCOS want to be a moderator of a PCOS community? Shouldn't people with PCOS be the moderators"?

But you all know the answer to that.

ETA - Actually, one of the mods is clearly male, hasn't transitioned (at least of 2 months ago), "hates TERFS and SWERFS" - everything they say is very typical transwoman behavior, but I couldn't find any posting of his pronouns or declarations he is Trans - so, without him declaring his pronouns, I can't be sure what his "gender identity" is - because you can't see gender identity. However, this person is not a "person with the ability to have PCOS".

[–][deleted] 8 insightful - 1 fun8 insightful - 0 fun9 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I couldn't tell when I tried to quickly look into the mod's histories... somebody else on another platform told me there was at least one trans mod who was recently added. I wouldn't be shocked at all if more than one person with zero ovaries was moderating that sub. They're targeting that sub to "weed out the TERFS!"

[–]Camberian 19 insightful - 1 fun19 insightful - 0 fun20 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Bloody hell. Unbelievable.

[–]wicklesnarf 12 insightful - 1 fun12 insightful - 0 fun13 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

I just don't understand why all the fuss in that sub. I know it originally came to a head because of a post specifically about a woman asking about the hormones they take while transitioning and if those might be helpful in mitigating PCOS symptoms/side effects, but it's turned into this policing of language, wanting everything non-gendered. It's so weird this isn't an issue on r/breastcancer. Biological men who have it post there and are treated with warmth and respect, and none of them are going around chewing out women for addressing each other or the sub as a whole as women, or trying to tear down charities and campaigns because they're so female-centric.

The people doing this aren't just punishing the "naughty girls", they're punishing the entire community, themselves included, by pushing out their support and making a lot of the people trying to conform so uncomfortable they're too nervous to participate. So many comments on that thread and in the PCOS-Folks sub talking about how confused and unsure they are about what words are okay instead of getting support for their condition. Everyone's walking on eggshells.

[–][deleted] 7 insightful - 1 fun7 insightful - 0 fun8 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Against hate subreddits seems to have had a huge part to play in it. They noticed there was an overlap between PCOS posters and posters who were on the so-called "hate" GC subs. They targeted it for that reason with the help of tagging software and brigading. I think I posted the links somewhere to the threads I'm referring to.

[–]Sebell 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

If you name subs here, they will be targeted next.

[–][deleted] 11 insightful - 1 fun11 insightful - 0 fun12 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I don't get it. Surely a woman that has decided to get a reassignment has explicitly made the decision to never get pregnant. Why do they then pretend to care about their ovaries? (honestly thought they were removed during the operation any way)

[–]pink_lioness 10 insightful - 1 fun10 insightful - 0 fun11 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

[–]Radfem_the_Hun 10 insightful - 1 fun10 insightful - 0 fun11 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

They really are their own worst enemies. They keep peaking thousands of women by the day. Keep it up, TRAs, you're doing all the hard work for us!

[–]Sebell 9 insightful - 1 fun9 insightful - 0 fun10 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

I saw someone post about this on another forum. "A forum I love dearly..." I looked at that user's history, and they'd never posted in PCOS before. Ever. Yet, it was "dear" to them.

[–][deleted] 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

Yes. Someone who made a blanket statement shaming PCOS posters had virtually no post history yet she had over 1000K in karma.

Holy shit, the responses from the transwomen... TRANSWOMEN... WHY ARE THEY IN A PCOS SUB?!

I know they are there to brigade, but still... this is a perfect example of why we don't want them in women's spaces, speaking over women, and diminishing the experiences and difficulties women face. Typical men.

Why is Reddit allowing the clear and obvious brigading of every sub ever by the TRAs? This is very obviously a planned and coordinated attack on women's subreddits. We see the planning of their raids in r/MTF and r/GenderCynical, and then we see the results. But Reddit hates women, so they don't care. "Rules for thee but not for me."

[–][deleted] 5 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 0 fun6 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

I really can’t even deal with this. Males on the PCOS sub. It is just so beyond the pale.

I never went on that sub but struggled horribly with PCOS when I was younger.

Reddit is one gut-punch after another these days. I truly feel for the women that needed that sub to be what it always had been.

[–][deleted] 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I know. What's worse is how other social media sites and online media are also marching in lockstep. Violence against women = OK. Telling a man dressed as a woman that he doesn't need a pap smear = "Hateful BIGOT!"

[–]Moonkittie 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

Oh.. /facepalm. I'm ranning out of things to say. I deactivated my account with the reasoning that it became a women-hating platform. unfortunatly I still need to visit some subs here and there for my studies, but thats it, I really had it with them.

[–]Moonkittie 7 insightful - 1 fun7 insightful - 0 fun8 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Next they'll change the dictonery meaning of PCOS so it wont be "offending" or god forbid, "trasphobic!" ughh.

[–]RestingWitchface 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

This is so gross. Men have no business modding a sub for PCOS!

[–]sisterinsomnia 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Interesting how a group which is probably at most a percent or two of all (size of trans men and nonbinary uterus-havers) can decide on the language we use. Can you think of any other groups in society where the overall group would not be called by whatever 99% or so of its members call themselves? Would those groups police so hard what terms the members use? This only happens to women.
