Does anyone else think it is absolute insanity for a parent to be so homophobic that they would rather give their children harmful puberty blockers or hormones just so they can be in "straight" relationships? Your child isn't even likely to "pass" for the opposite sex, so you're forcing them to put a half-hearted costume that will cause years of emotional and physical damage.

It seems to be there are 2 groups of parents who put their minor children on blockers/hormones--the ones whose kids have fallen into the ideology and then they're told by professionals that their child will kill her or himself if not started on this regimen (which is "totally safe!"). They truly believe they are supporting their kid and are falling for the cult ideology. Some of them are also in communities where it is seen as child abuse to NOT trans their kid. The others are narcissistic parents who have found this particular way of exploiting their kids, especially if they can make their kid famous and/or get a lot of local community attention for having a trans kid.

Yeah, I'm sure it's partly because I live in a very liberal city (which I generally appreciate) but most of the people I've seen in my area who trans their kids are white liberal upper middle to upper class professionals who are genuinely anxious to do the "right" thing re: social justice. Which, again, I generally appreciate. And if you're a normal parent looking for information about puberty blockers all of the authoritative-sounding advice is "They're safe, they're reversible, they're necessary for the child's mental health." And once you've started down that path it would be devastating to admit that you've done something harmful that your child will have to deal with medically, socially and emotionally for the rest of their life. How do you explain to your 24 year old child that you made the choice to sterilize them at 12 because you thought they would be happier?

Some parents probably find it easier to deal with there being something wrong with their child (i.e., "born in the wrong body" and so on) than to admit that their child is gay. Homophobes have always treated same-sex attraction as a personal fault

Tbh, the only time I was called a "terf" was in this charming ban notification message I received from r/actuallesbians. A sub I never participated in. Yet their mods still took the time to browse my post history to find a reason to ban me. Like saying sex is real. They sure have a lot of time on their hands to look for bigotry that doesn't exist. There's literally nothing transphobic in my post history. And it's creepy af to look through someone's post history. Who do they think they are, the woke Stasi ? Do they think I have to pledge allegiance to girldick before joining a LESBIAN subreddit ? Lmaooo

I was a trans ally, now I'm not so sure anymore. Guess they did a good job at fighting transphobia, alienating allys is an amazing method !

Even before quarantine, life for them revolved around being on the internet 24/7 and "exploring their gender". A lot of mods on reddit mod several subreddits...internet is life. When they got rid of the lesbians and feminists, now they're going after female health issues. Once all that's gone--they will go through serious withdrawal like any other addict....no more "terfs" to hunt. "Do they think I have to pledge allegiance to girldick" Unfortunately, yes. I was a trans ally for a very long time too until they started demanding sex from lesbians, etc (later I found out about the sports issue, locker rooms, that the bathroom thing wasn't just 'we want to pee", autogynephilia......)

Somewhere on this sub this guy Bardfinn was discussed, and he is big paid moderator on reddit and he is saving post history and archieving everything, from his own words he have archieved more than 30 thousand people profiles with all their posts and most of the "wrong subs" as well. To search in them posts of people to ban them in all subs he is moderating or to say who to ban to reddit admins. So basically reddit is paying him for mass stalking people.

Some mods are dicks (literally?). I was banned from r/news - a sub I never posted in. Dickmods do this if you post in a so-called 'hate sub', such as r/WatchRedditDie or r/DeclineIntoCensorship.

I dont even think most parents are doing it for woke points. There is such thorough silencing of any criticism of transing kids that it's almost impossible to find dissent from a simple google search (at least, dissent that doesn't come from conservative sources which isnt where most liberal parents would go for information on the proper way to support LGBT kids).

The first thing parents who are genuinely well-meaning and progressive are going to find is TRA posts and videos about how their kid will commit suicide without transition, their kid will never "pass" if they dont transition young, puberty blockers are "harmless" and reversible, and everyone who denies any of that is transphobic and trying to slander the movement and make trans kids kill themselves. Which, naturally, taints these people against the evil "TERFs" so even if the parents go looking for criticism, the very small amount that hasn't been completely silenced is often posted anonymously or has TRAs who specifically posted about how it's "garbage" and bigoted etc.

People in academia have also been effectively silenced by the trans lobby's very successful campaigning. There's very little good data on studies of trans individuals, as anything that the trans lobby sees as less than 100% supportive could potentially be damaging and therefore is a threat that must be squashed before it can be studied. Those who lie and claim that science is in support of trans ideology conveniently ignore that the transgender movement has very cleverly used its voice and claims of victimhood to deny scientists and academics the ability to study transgenderism from a neutral, third-party standpoint.

I mean, it's not conversion therapy in the sense that someone would want to "fix" their gay kid by making them trans. But it could be, if gender non-conforming and gay kids start convincing themselves that they're the opposite sex and transitioning will make them feel better about themselves. I would 100% have transitioned as kid given the choice, and I would have deeply regretted it later.

But... it literally IS someone wanting to "fix" them by making them trans? Just like conversion therapy - just supposedly super woke now? That doesn't mean it's not coming from a good place (read: road to hell, good intentions, you know the drill) but the "fixing" is definitely there. And it's horrifying.

Homophobia is still sadly so very rampant in society. It's more acceptable to have a trans child than it is to have an effeminate son or a masculine daughter because of how strong the expectation of gender conforming norms are. AnDrOgYnY iS sCaRy!!!

Some TRA are starting to spread the idea that using the term "femboy" (very popular on gay dudes reddit) is transphobic, or that having "femboy" characters in comics is transphobic, because they could have made them trans women instead of gender non conforming boys

Instead of celebrating gender non-conformity and embracing breaking down stereotypes, TRAs revel in perpetuating rigid gender stereotypes and active hostility to same-sex attraction because they believe their self-declared identities give them, particularly heterosexual males who identify as trans, the right to demand sex from whoever they want.

No wonder transgender people are among the safest demographics - if radicals, homophobes and religious people all prefer to have transgender kids than lesbian/gay/bisexual kids.

And actually JKR words makes perfect sense, If think about this problem a bit more. Most of TRA rhetorics are very homophobic, they are pressuring lesbian and gay communities. And it even explains few young people from Russia I know - there is pretty homophobic country and goverment, and those people are men who were liking other men, I tried to say to them that it is normal, but they were afraid of society hate and became "straight transwomen" who are not even remotely passing and now dating men.

Can we applaud the fact that Variety's reporting on this situation is unemotional and does not villify JK Rowling? I wish that this were how most media outlets were reporting on JK Rowling, but sadly that's not true.

I also can't stand people saying that JK Rowling is Anti-LGBT when she is constantly standing up for the same-sex attracted LGBs and for trans people who are being marginalized in their own communities. How is that anti-LGBT?

The trans community basically treats acknowledgement of the objective reality of sex and sexual dismorphism in humans as bigotry/transphobia/literal violence/etc. You're not dealing with people who are playing with a full deck of cards.

I always think about Hans Christian Andersen‘s folktale of "The Emperor’s New Clothes". To those of us that are clear-eyed about the attempted erasure of lesbians/gays/female/male, it is analogous to the tale about the two weavers who promise an emperor a new suit of clothes that they say is invisible to those who are unfit for their positions, stupid, or incompetent – while in reality, they make no clothes at all, making everyone believe the clothes are invisible to them.

When the emperor parades before his subjects in his new "clothes", no one dares to say that they do not see any suit of clothes on him for fear that they will be seen as stupid. TRAS take it a few steps further. We are “literally murdering them” with our words.

TRAS want us to pretend that transwomen are actually women, that biology is irrelevant and those of that clearly state that they are not, are terfs.

In the tale, a child cries out, "But he isn't wearing anything at all!"

I refuse to participate in their insanity and erasure. No, they are men. The trans movement is naked, pure and simple.

Yes, this is the best modern example of the Emperor's New Clothes in action that I can think of. Such a good parable. If we want a catchphrase to counter "Trans women are women," maybe it can be "The Emperor is naked and we can see his penis." LOL.

I was just commenting on reddit about the erasure of homosexuality and same-sex attraction in a thread where it was relevant and some "lesbian" swooped in and said the usual "I'm a lesbian and you don't speak for me so STFU TERF." Lo and behold this is clearly not a lesbian because this is someone who refuses to say they are a homosexual female when asked if that's what they mean when they call themselves a lesbian, calls me an incel for saying "female" when we all know that we have to say "female" because they pretend not to know what a woman is, acts like "homosexual female" are dirty words, and tells me I'm screaming when I'm using temperate language and not capital letters like them. You can't make this shit up. Like hello, peeps, I'm literally commenting on homosexual erasure and how TRAs are trying to define homosexuality out of existence and taking away the words we have to describe the reality of our existence, and then you just go ahead, prove my point, and threatened to get me banned? It's poetry in action really.

That's fantastic. That Tran-I-Am poem reminds me of Arthur Miller's The Crucible. We could just replace the Salem Witch Trials with the Salem TERF Trials. The story re-writes itself pretty easily.

The funny thing is, and I didn't even notice it when I first read it, it seems to be a riff on Dr. Seuss' "Green Eggs and Ham". Menstruator, and other words that rhyme with 'hate her' is also a great one, there's a few live readings of her poetry on Youtube at women's conferences and such.

The terrifying thing is unlike the tale, the trans movement has convinced the Emperor (society as a whole) to figuratively murder any of his subjects who disagree. Don't agree that "transwomen are women"? Off with your head!

It's not just a matter of pointing out the Emperor is naked, but also convincing him that he and all his subjects are going to freeze to death come winter if we're all forced to be naked for the rest of our lives.
