That's what irritates me the most about trans activists - they don't actually respond to our concerns, just shout us down and call us names. They know they don't have any real arguments in favour of transgenderism.

You mean to tell me that "EDucaTE YouRSelF, tERf!!" isn't a cogent argument? It's a damn shame because many of these super woke allies are otherwise intelligent people. Something about this particular topic just flips the off switch on critical thinking skills and civil discourse.

I've see so many responses where they say someone's words, argument (whether a comment on reddit or JK Rowling's statements) is "literally violent" against them, or is "literally killing transpersons!" They do it because they want to be taken super seriously but the irony is it's impossible to take them seriously when they're being so overdramatic

Isn’t it interesting how criticism of an idea being taken as a personal attack is one of the defining characteristics of narcissism and entitlement?

I saw someone post today about ROGD (though they didn't call it that...) and the reddit responses were "informed consent doesn't exist! You have to see a therapist for years in order to get access to medication!". I didn't engage because I would just end up banned from the sub.

That's the stuff that irritates me. You can argue "informed consent reduces barriers to treatment for transgender individuals" - without lying about it. But that's the whole argument. "I'm critical of x practice though" - it never happens! You're misinformed!

It's maddening, because the people making these arguments actually DO KNOW BETTER - you can see from their post history they are very involved in the trans communities - but they just straight up lie, to keep people from looking and thinking critically.

Using terf was so helpful for them. They can throw it at anyone. No critical thinking or discussion. It is so loaded an acronym now, people shut up and back away. I bet most people don’t even know what it means-they just know it’s “bad” and don’t want to have it thrown at them.

The same thing was pointed out years back by people like Ayaan Hirsi Ali with the term "Islamophobia" and how criticizing a religious ideology is neither an irrational fear nor an attack/bigotry on Muslims but she didn't win this battle and Murphy/other radfems likely won't win this one either. It has been a decades long assault on the common, precise and universally understood language that allowed people to communicate clearly, and even to write laws and regulations clearly. It's hard to even defend yourself against accusations in a climate when the accusations are always suitably opaque and vague and can mean practically anything.

Saying being against prostitution is "whorephobic" is so sickening and dumb. Being against sexual abuse does not being against sexual abuse victims. Prostitution is sexual abuse, and constantly banging on about how they were asking for it- I mean, they "chose" it, makes you a rape apologist.

Megan Murphy just keeps growing on me, more and more.
