I had a man raid /s/antipornography yesterday and again this morning, trying to spam and destroy a small community. This is what they do to women when they're scared, huh?

The user in question has been permabanned and I'd like to point you all the way of /s/antipornography again! I'm taking mod applications but already invited a few GC mods to join if they were interested. I'm focusing the community on the harms of pornography, but it definitely does come with a GC perspective. (It serves as a mirror to the Reddit community for those no longer on Reddit.)

This guy apparently spent HOURS posting pro-porn articles all over my subsaidit community that I had to solely remove, but if anything it made me feel more confident that someone felt THAT threatened by us.

I think it's because on a sub conscious level they know it's wrong and hearing a dissenting opinion from their own will make them reflect on the choices they make.

I don't like the anti-male rhetoric so often found here. Gives credit to the idea that we're all bitter man haters. I know plenty of men personally who are anti-pornography themselves, specially because it's a horrible industry and not because "it broke my pp :(" or whatever. This kind of talk is just blatant sexism, and it's not suddenly okay just because it's against men.

I see women so often defend men and men's systemic sexism against criticism with basically "not all men!" and I just feel sorry for 'em because all the "nice" men will never put in the same effort when it would actually cost those them more than righteous words. "Nice" men have never made any social improvements for women, it's all self-interest.

I'm sure men will survive our "blatant sexism", lol. God forbid they taste even a verbal smidgen of what women have gone through since the dawn of time because we're frustrated and venting. We are no physical/social/political threat to men unlike they are to us. And why should we police our tone because of what some internet rando might think of us? Our activism isn't contingent on men liking us, in fact I'd say always being concerned with staying polite and being afraid of seeming "emotional" over actual male BS has hurt women FAR MORE than it has helped.

Those "plenty of anti-pornography men" you know still jerk it to hardcore anal scenes or "barely legals", I guarantee it, they just want to feel superior to other pornsick men.

Agreed, with all of this. Also wanted to add that using anti-male rhetoric works against the purpose of this community. For one, you're no longer centering women, secondly, with statements like the one you replied to, you're basically saying that there IS a difference is between male and female brains. Meanwhile, I see people on this sub actively searching for evidence to disprove this neurosexism.

There is a biological basis for the statistical differences in male and female behaviour which exists in every culture across the whole world.

That's reality. That's the rad fem position.

Assuming you meant inborn here, that's still very much debated between scientists, with plenty of studies supporting the "there is no such thing as a male or female brain" stance. There was a post about that on this sub a while back and I linked several articles on the topic.

That's reality. That's the rad fem position.

Maybe this is on me and I haven't been paying enough attention, but in every community where there's radfems I've seen sentiments similar to "there is no such thing as a ladybrain". And women disliking it when trans people say they have the brain of one sex and the body of another. There never seemed to be any challenge to such statements, so I'd assumed that was the stance most in the community took.

When did I even say it's one or the other? I personally think this would be more relevant to tell the original commenter. She's the one who said men aren't even capable of reflecting on their own behaviour. That is ignoring personal choice, and more importantly taking away personal responsibility. If someone simply isn't able to do something, it's not their fault anymore. Just like you don't blame someone born blind for not being able to see.

I've noticed this conflation of porn and masturbation, I hear men say masturbation is normal and healthy to defend what they're watching. Like watching violent dehumanizing gangbangs or tentacle rape is necessary in order to jerk off. Masturbation/self exploration may be healthy but training yourself to be aroused by characters from The Simpsons engaging in incest is NOT. I worry a lot about the people (girls too) growing up with this stuff.

I was a mod on antipornography and another anti-porn subreddit for a while. I'd consider doing it, but just to let you know I can't be on top of it 24/7 the way some mods are. I know it's like a magnet for trolls and freaks.
