They’ll wash their hands of any action targeting Rowling, insisting that it was the act of a mentally deranged individual that they cannot be accountable for--but, whose crime is at least understandable given her “transphobic diatribes” against the perpetually abused transgender community. And, if this strategy works for a demagogue like Trump, who also instigates multiple violent acts against his enemies, why not for this male cult.

That’s exactly what I was thinking. They’ll blame it on lone wolf.

You think so? I don't.

Same. The media will play it as "Rowling's words were really violent/harmful and cause trans people to commit suicide and men to murder TIMs, so she deserved it".

I think this is how it would be spun by the media, and vocal TRA cabal, BUT the silent majority wouldn't accept it.

Most people are completely unaware of this nonsense in the first place, so they'd be shocked to learn about it in connection with a horrific news story. They still think TRAs just want to be safe in bathrooms or something.

With that said, it seems unlikely that JKR doesn't have significant personal security, so I hope AND expect she'll stay safe.

I can’t see it. It’ll be “oh, he needed mental health services, poor boy!” or “Oh, this is feminisms/his mother’s fault!”

The TRA community is extremely violent and abusive towards women. However, it is proven that only the victims can be labelled as evil. Even if TRAs beat up women on the street, the media will still defend them and celebrate witches' death. The society do not care about women's rights, therefore will remain blind to the truth.

Yes. The TRA community helps women "stay in their rightful place", therefor the community will cheer them on. I'm at the point where I'm starting to get afraid of even being online. Starting to dismantle my old email accounts, etc.. These people are tech savvy and psychotic. It will have to come to wealthy children being abused and/or a famous male celebrity to die by the hands of one of them for anyone to get upset.

I believe that JK Rowling has very good body guards and is safe in the physical sense. It is more likely that some ordinary woman might be attacked as TERF. I see this encouraged a lot online, and when some years ago I saw incels egging each other toward violence I feared what then came to pass: actual murders of people. So yes, all those tweets advocating violence against TERFs worry me for the same reason that reading the early incel sites did. This is seriously advocating violence but it is not taken seriously by the society early enough.

I worry about this all the time too.

There was a school shooting in the news recently. A TIF opened fire in retaliation for school bullying.

Some extremists on Twitter are calling her a hero.
