In france , the woke cool Aid has not been drink too much , and I don’t think that our gendered language is gonna change soon

France in general seems to be a bit more resistant to outside influence (or at least it tries to...). Maybe this is partly due to the language barrier? In Nordic countries we consume A LOT of media in English, which I suspect is the reason we were so quick to adopt trans dogma. I believe this has happened much slowly in southern European countries.

That's true, everytime I talk about a GC point people agree and here it's just common sense

Yes , we have our own media that influence us and our language is so gendered you can’t make things up , apart from unisex toilets in some places it’s all that we have and it happened way before tra’s became a thing, but I don’t know in other countries who are more into English media maybe it’s different

I can confirm this about France, we're generally more skeptic and not as pro-individuality as other countries I'd say that it hasn't really taken off. You'll get the odd nutjob depending on which degree you persue at uni though.

I was happy to see that France accepted the Nordic model that criminalizes the purchase of sex tho. I wonder where the push for that came from. Guess there are strong survivor-led organizations there?

Yes but in general I'd attribute it to strong moral ethics/rigid codes when it comes to laws. You can't donate blood here for money because of donors potentially lying about having diseases and the financial motivation is frowned up whereas in the U.S you can. In regards to TRAs, half the country is pro LePen (extreme right) which doesn't take into account others that wouldn't be for it.

Other French here. "Internalized homophobia"(as in jokes at the expenses of gays, and the "homo not fag" culture) and feminism are two shields that seems to have done wonder for us. Wokism cannot really develop somewhere so right leaned and violent as France, as the movement is centred around fragility. And feminism has a really strong influence on the internet over the debate, combined with the body acceptance culture, the TRA feel unneeded and vile to be around.

so right leaned and violent as France

A very surprising comment. Doesn't match the idea I have of France.

If you grew up in French culture, you will learn fighting as a boy or as a girl is "normal". That being rude to a stranger is normal and perfectly acceptable, or that being stubborn is acceptable.

Even if it is illegal and you can/will get a fine (and some jail time) for it, beating the shit out of male gay guys is very common. Lesbian have it far easier than gays. In general girls have it easier than guys, feminism worked wonder for them to the point where culturally and legally, women are more powerful than men. Economically however they have it worse. And mysogynic idiots still exist, but they are WAY weaker than in America.

Honestly that's not that clear cut. I'm a lesbian and I'm in very "woke" circles and it's as bad as in the US in those. Which... Is damn lonely. GC French sub when? I see we're not alone!

[–]Anoki 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

We should create one when we find out we have enough member 🙂 , and those woke circles are not common enough to be seen

Italy: we're still arguing if gay people are normal or mentally ill, the trans rhetoric is very far away to being accepted.

On the contrary, I know there are quarrels inside the national LGBT groups because TRAs are trying to tell lesbians that they like girldick.

This is kind of what I suspected. Interesting.

There are the first trans teenagers though, I also think transgenders were always more accepted than gay people (except trans prostitutes)

[–]Louhi[S] 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I see. I guess it's easier for a lot of people to accept the ''born into the wrong body''- narrative and say ''that's just the way they are''. Whereas homosexuality is seen to bee purely about sex.

Russia:

  • Sex change and everything that comes with it (women's restrooms etc) is legal. Marriage is only for people of the same legal sex (now reaffirmed in the constitution), which currently includes transes. There are weaksauce efforts to prohibit marriage for transes.

  • Mainstream liberal media is firmly on the T side, lies about transes' sex even if they haven't changed it legally.

  • Feminist media is "cock sucking 101 for lesbians"-level atrocious.

  • Most self-identified radfems on Twitter are teenagers, pro-T, and not particularly gender-critical; their concerns are "tomboy" characters in imported entertainment (still far more "gender-conforming" than normal Russian women), lesbians in imported entertainment, and high-profile rapes and murders. They also appear shocked every time their favorite performer singing about the joys of rape and/or pedophilia boasts of real offenses he committed. (Yeah I don't even either.)

  • Some radfem/GC communities exist on VK (Facebook clone). They're always under siege by male rapists. (Rape threats are not prosecuted. Assault and battery is an administrative infraction punishable by a $15-$70 fine.)

  • Children are transing themselves, binding breasts, taking hormones, showing off on social media. No one cares unless a cop needs a drug arrest to meet the quota, then they might catch someone receiving hormones by mail.

Fascinating and shocking, thank you for sharing.

I'm guessing the laws against "homosexual propaganda" don't really help the situation...

I got physically ill reading that. I have an American male friend who tells me Russia is a role model country because they have a strong church and none of this LGBTQ insanity (friend is against all of the letters there) -- but that's not true at all about Russia then if sex change is legal and your mainstream "feminism" is libfem.

Is your American male friend of Russian origin? Where is he getting this malarkey from? Does he know anything about the history of the Russian Orthodox church and religion in the Soviet Union? I mean if he hates all of LGBT&Q then I guess this isn't surprising.

Spain: - Our government is trying to legalize the self identification law but the gender critical feminists are fighting really hard against it. -There are lots of TRAS supportive of the Trans Laws, even in my own group of friends, I'm the only GC person and whenever I try to argue with them or star a debate, I'm completely shut down. However, on the other hand, on Twitter and on Instagram, many GC groups are created and are trying to fight the TRAS Movement (ex, the first LGB group without the T has been created a couple weeks ago). -There are so many feminists and/or communists/leftists on the Internet spreading facts and information about the dangers of the TRA movement and how the would affect women's daily lifes (another example, funds are being destinated to trans people but not to disabled people) And I think that's pretty much it. If someone who is Spanish would like to add something, is more than welcome. Hope that it helped!

Has there been any investigative journalism on where the money for the TRA movement in Spain comes from?

[–]Louhi[S] 6 insightful - 1 fun6 insightful - 0 fun7 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

A great question. I've also been following the situation in Spain and was surprised years ago when trans ideology began to quickly make it into the mainstream. As always, follow the money...who is pushing for this?

[–]Criticalofgender 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

That's a really good question! Tbh, I'm not really sure, but I've seen people suggesting that the government is trying to approve that new law fast in an attempt to change sex based laws so... Not sure if it was really that but, I wouldn't be surprised. I'll try to learn more about it though.

Not adding anything, but I just wanted to say that I never thought a leftist government I voted for would turn out this sinister. Mind you, it's not only that they are pro self-ID, they also seem to be pro prostitution and pro reproductive exploitation of women. I... I feel nauseous.

[–]Criticalofgender 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I totally feel you. It's totally shameful that they represent the "left", but people are not buying their bullshit anymore

I'm not from Spain but I know okay-ish Spanish and recently learned about Contra el Borrado de Mujeres and I have so much respect for all the women involved in that
