I got banned from twox yesterday for saying "if gender is socially constructed and anyone can self-identify, and everything is valid, what's the point in having spaces at all?". Nice to hear I'm not alone with this craziness. Gender more like a book club to them.

[–]PeakingPeachEater 6 insightful - 9 fun6 insightful - 8 fun7 insightful - 9 fun -  (0 children)

Well, maybe if you weren't such a bigmeaniebutt, you wouldn't have got banned!! I mean, how could you OFFEND those poor polyarmous, asexual(who like to have sex occassionally), genderfluid, trans non-binary folks that go by they/them?!

Lol just messing, yeah I don't understand Reddit's logic on well, most everything over there.

There's trans non-binary people which....why would they transition if they're supposedly "non-binary"? I don't...I don't get it....

TwoX's only active moderators are misogynists. That sub is literally a private brothel for the ugly fat male mods.

I wish those freaks would stop comparing themselves with black women. We have always been identified as women. We just weren't given rights and were treated like subhumans. Nowhere in history can I find a black woman being referred to as a man. It's only modern day white men, including trans white ones, who label us that way.

[–]our_team_is_winning 30 insightful - 1 fun30 insightful - 0 fun31 insightful - 1 fun -  (3 children)

From OP: <I've said before that is extremely offensive to say that if we consider black woman women, we have to consider trans women women as well, because both are "types of women"> Seriously this is BEYOND offensive. Do they even hear themselves? "Black women are a type of women the way men are a type of women." NO!!! Of course there are black women. There would be no black people without black women. Some women are black. Some are brown. Some are white. Some are every human skin color. This is not news. Claiming "therefore, men are women" is just stupid. But WHY did they single out black women specifically? There seem to be quite a few black TiM, so I can't totally blame white TiM here. But that really is one of the worst TiM lines EVER.

[–]Spicylikegumbo 22 insightful - 2 fun22 insightful - 1 fun23 insightful - 2 fun -  (2 children)

They single out black women because we're an easy punching bag. No one protects us or stand by us. You can get away with saying anything about us. A few years ago Don Imus called black female basketball players "nappy headed hoes." The fact that he felt comfortable enough to say that on air says a lot. The fact that black women had to call out the racism and sexism but black men and white feminists were silent when that happened goes to show black women have to stand up for ourselves most of the time.

History lesson: We didn't get voting rights until several decades after white women. Events like that further contribute to the idea that black women weren't seen as women.

[–]BEB 7 insightful - 1 fun7 insightful - 0 fun8 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

I was around for 2nd Wave feminism, and some of the most revered leaders were black women. I remember Shirley Chisholm as an icon. I'm not saying there weren't problems between women and factions of women, but I don't think they had as much to do with race as with personalities, backgrounds and ideologies.

In any case, this whole "white feminism" thing, now used as a slur, is, IMO, just an attempt by men who hate women to divide us.

[–]MarkTwainiac 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Another icon from back then was Flo Kennedy.

[–]Eurowoman24 6 insightful - 1 fun6 insightful - 0 fun7 insightful - 1 fun -  (3 children)

do non-TRAs do that? only noticed tras being open about it. Really shocked?

[–][deleted] 11 insightful - 1 fun11 insightful - 0 fun12 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

Yes. It comes from racist caricatures of black women as being "big, loud, and aggressive" (traits generally considered masculine) that you see in the Angry Black Women trope. I cannot tell you how many times I've seen black women called manly or basically men, so when I first started seeing these "if black women are women" type posts from (more often than not white) TRAs it immediately brought those taunts to mind.

[–]Spicylikegumbo 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

So many black male comedians had this as their schtick for a long time - Martin Lawrence, Eddie Murphy, Jamie Foxx, Tyler Perry - all crossdressed. I just laughed when I was younger, but now I see how dangerous those stereotypes are.

[–]SanityIsGC 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

How can non-TRAs not go along with it? If being a woman is only a performance then that reprehensible belief falls into step with trans ideology.

[–]LeyMio 6 insightful - 1 fun6 insightful - 0 fun7 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Asian women and feminists are also misrepresented and oppressed by the TRAs & Libfems cult. It is sad that women can no longer trust any reddit subs that relate themselves to "feminism". Ironically, those "feminism" subs force women to worship the opinions of white men with mental disorders.

[–]Immortallogic 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Don't even bother responding to that ludicrous argument. Please, don't. Don't even engage.

Why in the name of anything would ANYONE second guess that a black woman is not a woman? This world is now trying to tell us that up is down and wrong is right, don't even react to it.

[–]SameOldBS 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I agree. It's deeply offensive for people to use black women as a comparison to trans women.

[–]BioFem[S] 35 insightful - 7 fun35 insightful - 6 fun36 insightful - 7 fun -  (2 children)

I forgot to mention the name of this guy, Colin Wright, he is an evolutionary biologist, yet the comments in r/feminism were saying that he should "educate himself", do some "basic research", that he had "no idea" and that he was an "ignorant conservative" .

[–]Shesstealthy 11 insightful - 1 fun11 insightful - 0 fun12 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

From my cultural studies days I can imagine some QT people eye evobiologists askance because there is a strong tendency among them to ascribe social roles to biology, thereby conveniently reinforcing the sexist status quo ("it's natural for men to be attracted to young fertile women! Females are small so they need protection inside the home!")

Nonetheless biology IS biology.

[–]DifferentAirGC 5 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 0 fun6 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I'm starting to believe womenhatewomen too. All the hate I've received and have seen when it comes to criticizing gender theory especially from a feminist lens has been from women.

[–]meranii 28 insightful - 1 fun28 insightful - 0 fun29 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

A bunch of the mods of women's subs on reddit (the few that are left) are transwomen and the rest are men and handmaidens, spineless and afraid of being banned themselves. I don't doubt at all that lots of real women think they do good by shaming other women for not buying what the TRAs are selling, but online anyone can identify as anything, and with how many AGPs are into roleplaying as women... or do you mean irl?

[–]Marsupial 25 insightful - 1 fun25 insightful - 0 fun26 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

The people on r/feminism aren't feminist women, just like the people on r/actuallesbians aren't actual lesbians and TwoX hasn't been for women since they made it a default sub. All female subs on Reddit are heavily infiltrated by men.

[–]Cexsco 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

GC too btw. I've seen places like T_D and some far right subs (prior to getting banned) talking about how they have GC alts where they try to "redpill" women.

[–]AugustiJade 14 insightful - 1 fun14 insightful - 0 fun15 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Women do hate other women as well, especially in very male-dominated spaces. I work in a very male-dominated field, and the few other women I work with are always trying to prove themselves to the men, so they are very vicious towards other women. I hate it! I imagine this is a similar story with the handmaidens on Reddit.

[–]BioFem[S] 12 insightful - 1 fun12 insightful - 0 fun13 insightful - 1 fun -  (5 children)

This is true, I've seen in "progressive" and "feminist" subs women being vicious towards "terfs" and even "swerfs", saying horrible things, completely missing the point and without even trying to listen to what radfems are saying. I didn't even mention trans people in my comment, I don't see how they are relevant while talking about intersexuality, because being trans has nothing to do with being intersex. I'm extremely frustated because of the "sex spectrum" thing that many scientists are claiming. It's obvious that they are saying that to defend that "biological sex" is a blurry and meaningless term because it's "so difficult to classify someone as male or female", like if the exception was the norm. If they consider biological sex irrelevant and blurry, it's obvious that "gender identity" should be the relevant thing. This complety ignores sexual attraction, the opression of women as deeply tied to our reproductive capacity and the medical implications of our sex. It's true that being cultural animals, culture and society are necesssary for us, but after all, we are still animals, and we are still subjected to biology. These people seem to think that somehow we have already trascend our status as mammals or something. You don't hear anyone saying that biological sex in chimps is very difficult to determine and that it's on a spectrum.

Also, the fact that they always bring up snails and clownfishes to prove how sex is not a binary... Shocking news, but humans aren't clownfishes.

[–]SanityIsGC 7 insightful - 3 fun7 insightful - 2 fun8 insightful - 3 fun -  (3 children)

I'm extremely frustated because of the "sex spectrum" thing that many scientists are claiming. It's obvious that they are saying that to defend that "biological sex" is a blurry and meaningless term

More shock to my system hearing that there is a contingent of scientists who buy into this cultic belief and this is a cult,no evidence just revealed "truth". And it is significant that no one says the sex of chimps is hard to determine.

Come to think of it maybe transgenderism should be referred to as the Church of Transology

[–]BEB 7 insightful - 1 fun7 insightful - 0 fun8 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

Love the "Church of Transology" - let's make this meme happen!

[–]SanityIsGC 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

Just thought of that at the spur of the moment but have been thinking for sometime that transgenderism should be framed as a religious movement, understood as a religious movement and tackled as a dangerous cult - one as dangerous as Scientology, NXIVM and many others.

[–]BEB 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Great thinking!

Church of Transology needs to become a meme and I hope that you get full credit.

[–]Skipdip 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I find it interesting that you are ok with transwomen and men being considered women and men. On the surface I agree with your premise, especially since you don’t base it on the erasure of sex... but I think there must be lines drawn. I do feel like transsexuals have a much better justification for being socially considered women. But ultimately shouldn’t we actually just base things on sex and let go of gender? You think transwomen who are males should be able to enter all women’s spaces? I don’t know I think it is a slippery slope saying transwomen are women. Women means adult human female, and if you say transwomen are women you have to change the definition. I’m all for supporting gender nonconforming people. I am one. But I think it’s really dangerous to change definitions of words to suit people’s feelings.

[–]Immortallogic 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Most women are unfortunately either too male identified, or too empathetic and caring and think that by accepting trans identified males they are doing the right thing.

[–]Eurowoman24 21 insightful - 2 fun21 insightful - 1 fun22 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

I guarantee that these types of "feminists" will celebrate a Biden victory in the US because then Kamala Harris will be the first female Vice President. They can't even keep their own beliefs straight.

BTW: I read that a lot of Reddit's women's subs have trans activists as moderators, so that could be why you were banned.

Like I said, I'm a biologist, and I'm getting pissed as I incresealy see more and more "sex is a spectrum" things, even from scientists who want to be woke.

There are two sexes and a whole spectrum of mental illnesses.

Can someone enlighten me as to the whole TRA / Black women thing? I see it pop up occasionally and since I'm not a user of Twaddle I don't follow the ins and outs of trans bullshit that closely.

[–]Eurowoman24 16 insightful - 1 fun16 insightful - 0 fun17 insightful - 1 fun -  (5 children)

Racists hiding behind a veil of wokeness? Basically for the most part it's been black women = manly/savage/man like characteristics, so then comes the "if black women are women then why aren't we women??"

[–]AugustiJade 14 insightful - 1 fun14 insightful - 0 fun15 insightful - 1 fun -  (4 children)

It's absolutely mental to me that the racists and homophobes are now seen as progressive.

[–]supersmokio6420 11 insightful - 1 fun11 insightful - 0 fun12 insightful - 1 fun -  (3 children)

Its the main issue with wokeism; it has no concrete beliefs or values of its own that its follows can critically apply to a given idea.

All they can do is see an idea phrased using the language of identity and the hierarchy of oppression, and automatically agree with it; they aren't actually analysing whether its consistent with their claimed values.

[–]SameOldBS 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

There's absolutely zero internal logical consistency. I see it time and time again. It's the hallmark of a belief system that's completely out of step with reality.

[–]BEB 9 insightful - 1 fun9 insightful - 0 fun10 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

I have seen a lot of US writers lately speculate that Wokism is the replacement for religion among some youth.

Poster SanityIsGC has coined the "Church of Transology" which is both hilarious and fitting.

[–]SameOldBS 5 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 0 fun6 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

That is a good name for it. The parallels with religion are legion.

There was once a time when black women were not allowed to use the same restroom as white women, and clubs and other facilities were limited to white people only. Women of different races weren't allowed to intermingle. Obviously that was wrong. Now men who believe they are women think being kept out of women's spaces or having their "womanhood" denied is DISCRIMINATION just like women of a different race being kept out of women's spaces. I've also seen some TRAs say black women are "manly" so why can't their male selves be accepted in womens spaces too?

Tldr- they are just racist.

[–]iguanidae 9 insightful - 1 fun9 insightful - 0 fun10 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I am not an active biologist but my degree is in Biology. I can promise everyone that intersex is never presented as some weird off-brand of trans. Those with Klinefelter's syndrome are referred to as "male with an extra x chromosome", and with Turner's syndrome it is "female with a missing x chromosome". It's so important to clarify what the outcome is of these anomalies. Any scientist that I have ever seen try to argue otherwise come from super woque institutions where they aren't even renowned for their science programs.

I feel terrible for intersex people who are being told how peculiar and bizarre their existence is, and getting lumped in with transvestites.

[–]DifferentAirGC 9 insightful - 1 fun9 insightful - 0 fun10 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

Just imagine if we changed our language to include every single biological abnormality: can't say humans have 23 pairs of cromosomes because Down's, Turner's, etc exist; can't say humans are bypedal because some people don't have any legs, can't say humans have hearing and sight senses because deaf and blind people exist, can't say humans have 5 fingers on each limb because of polydactyly...

That sub is a bloody disgrace to feminism. They use slurs and dismissive language towards women all the time. Pretty sure most of the people there are transwomen or men.

I feel bad for every young woman that is looking for a feminism sub and is subject to that fuckery

[–]SameOldBS 6 insightful - 1 fun6 insightful - 0 fun7 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

What a brilliant way to take down feminism. Implode it from the inside by getting it to mean absolutely anything except what it's meant to mean.

[–]BEB 12 insightful - 1 fun12 insightful - 0 fun13 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

As an old feminist who suddenly woke up in Bizarro TWAW World, I think that Queer Theory and Third Wave feminism, sex positivity, BDSM, "sex work is work," anal sex on demand, sexting, plastic surgery, etc., was very much designed to undo the gains women made and make us seem like we have to be living sex dolls.

It all seems to be the opposite of actual feminism.

[–]SameOldBS 5 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 0 fun6 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

It's so bizarre, isn't it? Like you, I sleep-walked into this. I'd seen the post-feminism ladette thing give way to a new rise in feminism, and was quietly celebrating its revival, then self ID came along and I had my first Houston-we-have-a-problem moment, followed by a couple of years of trying to catch up with what the hell is going on and how we got to this point.

Thank you! Why are so many scientists speaking out saying "sEx Is A sPeCtRuM"? Millions of years of evolutions say otherwise. Sorry, but like JK Rowling, once you express any views about sex being binary or real, you'll be branded a T*RF and it doesn't matter whether you are trans-accepting or not.

Trans, Inc. has a tremendous amount of money behind it, some of it being poured into academia.

As a result, there's a climate of fear now in academia - you would have to be willing to lose your career to speak up now.

I just wanted to say I agree with you on 100% of what you said, especially the part where saying sex is a spectrum is an insult to a lot of "cis" people (it would imply that, for instance, a woman who gets a hysterectomy to relieve endo pain is "less of a woman"). It's interesting how many different outside groups and concepts TRAs are willing to trample in order to complete the mental gymnastics involved in defining trans women as "just another kind of woman". I agree with you on the concept of "social women" too, and honestly if they'd leave it at that we'd have a lot fewer problems.

The racism is just despicable. One time when somebody did the black women comparison I asked them who they thought had more similar DNA, a black woman and a white woman, or a white woman and a trans woman, and they actually said the trans woman and the white woman, but then it was like a lightbulb went off in their mind as they realized how racist the thing they just said was and how absurd it was. Not everyone is sharp enough to do that kind of self retrospection but sometimes you can walk people into recognizing their own faulty (and in this case racist) thinking for what it is. Another one I like to do is claim to be trans myself, the other person inevitably goes "Oh come off it you're not trans" and then I ask them how do they know? (Zuby does this to great effect).

Anyway... reddit is a very male dominated website, and that brand of liberal feminism (the one that promotes TWAW, sex work as a good career for women, pro porn/anti "kink shaming", pro surrogacy, etc etc) is very popular with men because all of those tenets benefit them. I'm glad we have this space and also Ovarit if you haven't been there yet, it's better than here.

[–]Immortallogic 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Sorry you got banned but don't sweat it. Reddit is now run by a bunch of fascist trans cult members. Anything with a semblance to logic, facts, or reality, is actively dissuaded and will probably get you banned, if not heavily downvoted (you can check out my post history here of you want an example).

Thanks for sharing your knowledge on here, I've learned quite a bit reading it and have bookmarked this to reference in the future.

Thank you for speaking out, eventually the cult will be exposed.

Welcome! I hope we can make common cause together with all kinds of women. There's a lot of concerning trends these days among the left and in regard to gender roles and gender ideology specifically and that affects all of us.
