According to this article from 2015, which is full of sexist, patronizing & victim-blaming BS, the majority of correctional officers in female prisons are male coz this is what's best for incarcerated women.

You see, according to this asshole, "women are lead [sic] to prison because of their unhealthy relationships with men" and so to become rehabilitated incarcerated women need to be under the "care" and "protection" of men who can serve as a "positive role model" and show female prisoners that not all men are like the fathers, boyfriends, husbands, pimps, traffickers etc who sexually abused, beat, menaced, bullied, tyrannized and exploited them through their lives.
