It seems to me that no one is really talking about how trans women in women's sports would impact black women specifically. The men overwhemingly go after the sprints where they have the biggest advantage and black women are typically the elite athletes in the sprints (at least in the US). I like watching track and field whenever I can and in the sprints its usually the US and Jamaica battling for 1st.

"Progressive" activists seem to only care about black women when those women are male.

Girls and women from economically disadvantaged, urban public schools in the US with a talent for, and interest in, track and field, specifically running events, are perhaps the group that has most visibly and dramatically benefitted from Title IX scholastic sports provisions. Since a lot of girls and women in the US from urban, underfunded schools are black (or increasingly Hispanic), and black athletes have long done quite well in T&F, this means the impact of males invading female T&F is bound to have an especially great impact on girls and women who are black and other racial/ethnic minorities and from households of limited means.

It costs a lot of money and requires a lot more space to build the physical facilities for a school to have (American) football and basketball teams - and even more to have swim teams or rowing programs. By contrast, track & field is relatively cheap and space-efficient, and a lot of track & field events and training are done outside. For these and other reasons, T&F programs for both sexes are much easier for urban, cash-strapped schools to establish and maintain. Students can run anywhere. Moreover, it's possible for many, many athletes and teams to train on the same track all at once - so it's feasible for several schools to share tracks or to use municipal or local college/uni tracks.

Our best athletes are always black too (Ennis, Johnson-Thompson, Asher-Smith). Never thought about it that way before, but the EA will disproportionately affect black women. Even in these woke times you’ve got to be male. Male person of colour, male woman etc, gay male. Women are still bottom of the pile, minority women even more so. While work is being done to elevate minorities in general, women are still ignored. I actually think this is a major issue in feminism- we’re not a true ‘minority’. Wokes are all about minorities- so black (3%UK, 13 US), LGB (do not have the statistics but less than 50% for sure). Women in the U.K. are 51%, so we’re not a true minority. So the wokes couldn’t care less, regardless of race, you’re still female, so whatever. They don’t care about the issues specifically affecting BAME women (eg FGM). Men IDing as women however, now THAT is a minority worth fighting for.

It baffles me why "trans girls" are the only athletes allowed to choose who they get to compete with.

And also why they're allowed to take performance-altering substances, even though the claim is the substances reduce their performance.

Also why it's only girls who are expected to give up their self-esteem, their achievements, their medals and their scholarships so that other athletes' feelings won't be hurt.

Misogyny. Let's call it out, loudly.

Its so, so frustrating. I can't imagine how difficult it must be to be a female T+F athlete right now.

Especially since girls are being gaslit to feel that they are the oppressors.

These girls train for hours a day to achieve both personal satisfaction and perhaps medals and scholarships and then some twerp comes along, claims to be a girl and steals their achievements and their sense of self (I can imagine them thinking, "Wait - if he's a girl, then what am I? ", yet the girls are painted as the villains.

No respect for AOC or Jones.

It seems the White House has warned state legislatures that passing anti-trans bills is illegal. Not American so I'm wondering what happens now. https://www.washingtonblade.com/2021/03/05/white-house-warns-state-legislatures-that-passing-anti-trans-bills-is-illegal/
