It's meant to be incoherent. It functions as a way of gaining power over others. If you play their game you constantly have to walk on eggshells, something familiar with anyone who has dealt with abusers.

Authentic people do not concern themselves all that much about how other people see them. NPD and BPD people are obsessed about it, and that is the reason they are so dangerous.

Ngl, I kind of love this and I plan to use it. "Use 'they' more than 'she'? How much more? Like 60/40? No, please give me exact numbers - this is obviously very important to you and I want to get it right." Then during conversation in the vicinity of they/her, I'll keep a running tally. "Did she want - oh wait, hold on. I said 'they' 12 times and 'she' 11 times so far, so I'm behind on 'they'. Let me try again: did THEY want..."
