I'm new to guns, and I just bought a new shotgun, which I took to a local range to test fire. It's a semi-automatic and I found it was really sticky, and the bolt would repeatedly get stuck. I want to use it for sporting clays, so I need to be able to shoot off two or three shells fairly quickly, but it's taking me 10-20 seconds to un-jam the bolt for each shell.
One of the range instructors said it was probably because it still has the "packing grease" on it.
How do I clean this off? Is there any specific cleaner, or will any work for a shotgun?
