Association is backwards. Rapeseed oil was used as an engine lubricant, and then they found they could refine it more to use in food. What's next, since some corn extract is used in gasoline corn is now a motor fuel that we've been tricked into eating?

Oh man. It's not "Canada" as much as I revile that shithole country. It's the big agro industries. They're the ones also convincing you that drinking coke is awesome and that cap'n crunch is a healthy breakfast. Oh, and that meat will kill you.

Frankly doctors and scientists are to blame here as well. They've been trying to push this omega and unsaturated nonsense for decades just because olive oil is good for the health. However not a single other vegetable oil, no matter the composition, has been shown to have anywhere near the same benefits.
