magnora7, d3rr, SaidItrons, Friends, Romans, Countrymen, Global Citizens,
I may be wrong, but it seems to me our community is missing a sub or few.
Before you all race to make a sub, I recommend we take a minute to discuss this.
If I recall correctly, someone recently suggested there be a sub to simply discuss sub management (ie. nomenclature, topics, overlap, repeats, upcoming, etc). I've been for that from the beginning. That may still be a good idea but it's not what I'm proposing or focused on here, though, this post and whatever comments may follow may be like a beta test run. Returning focus, I present to SaidIt the topic that I nominate to become _sub_jugated.
Considering we're in an unemployment crisis, I offer these titles up for your consideration to become subs, and welcome further suggestions.
Potential employment subsaidit titles:
- /s/classifieds
- CodeBounties
- CodeJockeys
- DeskWork
- FullTimeWork
- Gigs
- GruntWork
- /s/help
- HelpWanted
- HireMe
- HireYou
- HookUps
- Jobs
- OutOfWork
- PartTimeWork
- SeekingHelp
- SeekingWork
- TutorAvailable
- TutorsWanted
- Unemployment
- WorkForHire
Obviously with SaidIt's size, I would expect only one (maybe two) should serve both seeking and providing work, for a good while anyway. Considering the global audience and mostly anonymous nature of SaidIt, I would expect most work would be virtual gigs paid via crypto. Or maybe someone trustworthy might consider being a non-anon middle man for escrow or snailmail (I'm not interested, also, be hyper-cautious to any who may be interested). There are already many subs about selling stuff, a similar but different exchange. I wasn't feeling particularly witty, but feel free to play with the titles, as long as it's clear. Please feel free to recommend more titles to consider in the comments and I'll add them to the list above.
Now before anyone goes and makes any, perhaps folks want to discuss it, volunteer to be mods, and maybe team up. In this way a single sub name can be agreed on and be far more effective than being diffused by multiples.
For anyone interested, there are the SaidIt wikis mostly ignored with great potential despite not being as fancy as WikiMedia sites. Over a year ago, in the Wiki List, I'd created Classifieds and also promoted Multisubs (an unfinished project to classify all SaidIt's subs) and SaidIt Contenders (an open wish list of subsaidits yet to be created) in efforts to organize, keep track of, and manage subs and topics.
I'm so thrilled to see so many on that wish list have been started. Especially...

I really wish I have more solutions-based content to share. Maybe I need to expand my scope. I do soooooo love my DIY, maker, alt-homes, and self-reliant videos on YouTube, though the vast majority of them I simply don't share for a number of reasons. Same with entertainment. A large part of that is to avoid muddying the critical truth-seeking drive on SaidIt.
In addition to the employment listings and solutions subs, I would hope that folks might consider how we might cultivate community resources, projects, networks, and so forth. Maybe folks might want to form their own online virtual company / service / store / studio / workercoop to develop their project(s) or goal(s).
I have 3 started and am determined to finish the first draft of one so people can understand what it's about and decide to participate or not. I intend to pull way back in June. For May I intend to work on that project while also promoting WikiSpooks' 10th birthday, and generally withdraw from discussions. I hope to have that first draft presentable by early September, latest. And I might even go outside for a walk.
Lastly, for anyone worried about my SaidIt sub hording, I have good news for you. I'm not intending be a mod of whatever employment subs that may or may not happen. I'm also intending to finish up a few SaidIt CSS projects, including new banners (and maybe graphics), and I'll un-co-mod myself to return them to the folks who invited me to beautify their subs. After that, eventually, certainly past September, if no one else does first (feel welcome to), I might like to make one or two of the unmade solutions listed above, and/or a /s/OpArt sub for mind-bending imagery from optical illusions, camouflage, psychedelia, graffiti, Juxtapoz Magazine, activist art (agitprop), etc. (It would be the brother to the sister sub that I have yet to start cultivating, /s/PinUps.) Feel free to start OpArt first if you're passionate about it like me.
