Good to Meet You Guys

Long time lurker. I'm kind of slightly right of center to moderate. Appreciate the free speech, and capacity to speak up about controversial topics. I know at least one person with a likely vaccine injury. The virus is killing people, but these shots are killing and crippling some people, too. Balance is key, and I haven't seen any of that with the pandemic and vaccine coverage. None.

I'm leery of tech, think AI is terrifying, like dumb phones, and love dogs. That's about it. It's nice to meet all you guys. God bless you, and thank you for this forum. thumbs up

I know a lot of people find him / it cute, but I just find it weird that everyone's (Reddit) avatar, more or less, is that alien. Like some kind of conformity thing. It's an arguably minor detail, but the prevalence of the little guy kind of bugged me.

It's not a conformity thing. That's just the default avatar, and reddit also recently introduced an avatar maker.

Less distractions. You can post whatever your into, and people will really respond. You can disagree, we have all different types of people. I find this to be just as supportive or more supportive than Reddit.

If you start reading user names, you’ll get to know people.

Thanks, man. I'm finding that it's easier for people to agree to disagree over here; people can call one another names everyone just deals with it, like back in the old days. It's cool. And even after getting cussed out, people are still pretty chill and friendly, and shake hands. It's very civil!

Oh yeah, and the lack of a downvote button is absolute genius. "If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all". That's what my Dad always told me. Nice to see it lived out here in the ratings system. :)
