Reuters article arguing for trials of paxlovid in long covid (Apr 18, 2022) - r/covidlonghaulers post on Paxlovid

There is an interesting post over on r/covidlonghaulers - which discusses Paxlovid use for long haulers:

It is still surprising how long haulers are mostly still unaware of Ivermectin - for anosmia reversal or other use.
And some will reject it as "horse dewormer".
I am perma-banned there (for that post on Queen Elizabeth long haul, so I can't participate.
NOTE: there may be a benefit for Paxlovid for long haulers - even Gustavo Aguirre Chang has mentioned it in a tweet. The rationale is that in some long haulers there may be pockets of live virus in immuno-protected areas of the body, and in rapid cell creation areas like the gut lining (new ACE2 targets appearing).
Here is commentary by Dr Gustavo Aguirre Chang and Dr Eric Osgood:

PAXLOVID IN #LONGCOVID We have observed that the antivirals Nirmatrelvir and Ritonavir = Paxlovid produce a significant improvement in the patient with #ChronicCOVID The problem is that only 5 days of treatment is allowed with which in many the entire Viral Load is not eradicated

I've seen "experts" suggest Paxlovid should be given to LHers. This would be like trying to eliminate the stench of a dead body by shooting it.
