Shrier invalidated the lived experience of trans and nonbinary kids and teens, and made numerous dangerous, entirely unsound false equivalencies.

Whoever wrote that article had zero understanding of what Abigail Shriver was talking about.

The number of girls with apparent GD has rocketed up, there's been a complete change in the demographics of juveniles with GD and no one has bothered to stand back and check that these girls actually have GD or whether they have other issues. Teenage girls are renowned for body image based illnesses. They are just being shoved through hormone treatment and sometimes mastectomies without access to mental health care prior. Because that would be transphobic.

Literally no work has been done looking at the desistence rates in these girls. We've already started to see large numbers of them desist and detransition.

We should keep a list of the assholes names and in five years when the mass lawsuits by these girls are in full swing as them 'what did you think was going to happen?" And then point out they were complicit in this mass mutilation.

Who to believe on the issue of young women's experiences...

A man who's writing in a lifestyle magazine, who's a "freelance writer covering pop culture, relationships and LGBTQ+ issues" and who has written for rags like Teen Vogue, which really badly wants children to know about how they can be prostitutes and how great anal sex is?

...Or a woman who writes for the Wall Street Journal and studied at Columbia, Yale and Oxford? 🤔
